       Scottsdale Airport

(The airport where the 'adventure' begins. It's fairly big,
plenty of places to buy souvenirs, food and other things.
Comfortable chairs to people to relax in while waiting for their
       flights and it's pretty busy.)

"How much longer 'till the plane lands, daddy?"
Alabaster turned his attention to the child curled up in his
lap, almost asleep and mumbling to him rather tiredly. The
vampire chuckled, and rubbed the arm of his youngest daughter.
"We have a little while to wait before it lands, Melody. Asking
when it will arrive every ten or fifteen minutes will not make
it show up any faster, you silly thing."
The little girl whined, and hid her head in her daddy's
       shoulder.
"Yeah, quit being impatient, Mel~" the youngest Cobrina boy,
Bela, laughed, offering his sister a toothy grin, "Go to sleep~
       It'll get here faster!"
"Bela, don't tease your sister now," Alabaster hummed, smiling
over at his son, "She's just excited is all~"
"I remember someone else being just as talkative the first time
he went on a plane," Cyrus hummed, his nose buried within one of
his numerous books. The boy's lips curled up, obviously teasing
       his sibling as he spoke.
"Nu uh!" Bela whined, pouting at his brother, "I don't even like
going on these things! They're so boring!"
"That's not what you said earlier today!" Lestat poked his head
up from behind his cousin's seat, and smirked at Bela rather
playfully, "You were complaining that we weren't getting to the
airport fast enough 'cause you wanted to get on the plane. Don't
       lie Bela!"
"Lestat, come now," the boy's father laughed, "Don't tease your
cousin." Requiem offered his son a smile upon seeing the pout
       that the boy was giving.
"Yeah, don't tease me~" Bela snickered.
"Glad to see you two never matured past thirteen," Valerian
grumbled under his breath, though the smile on his lips killed
any chance that his words would be taken harshly.
"We've matured!" Bela and Lestat whined in unison.

"Mother, how are you feeling?" Sarafina asked softly, gazing
gently at the obviously tired woman who sat next to her father.
She reached a hand out to touch the woman's shoulder. It was
strange to see the woman so unlike herself, and it broke the
twenty-two year old's heart to remember why her mother was
       feeling that way.
Sophie shifted within her seat at the feel of the hand on her
shoulder, she tilted her head up to smile a weak but loving
smile as she reached a hand of her own up to gently curl around
Sarafina's hand. "I'm feeling fine, sweetheart. Just a little
worn, but it'll pass." She told her daughter, resting her head
       against Alabaster's shoulder absently.
"Mama! Daddy! Look what I drew~!" Adelyn chirped as she bounced
up to her parents, from where she'd been sitting next to Cyrus.
Showing them the picture of a horse, though with the lines
pointing out from it's head it appeared that she'd been trying
to draw a unicorn. It wasn't the best drawing in the world,
clearly the artwork of a little girl but still... She'd drawn it
       from the heart.
"My goodness, I think we have a little artist in the family."
Sophie mused as she took in the picture, moving forward to press
a kiss against her second daughter's head. "It's lovely, Adie. I
       adore it."
       "Yay!"
The little girl eagerly hugged her mother, before heading back
to her seat next to big brother Cyrus. Adelyn grinned up at him
from behind her white hair for a moment though the next, she was
looking back down and getting back to her drawing.
On the other side of Cyrus, Kristen was watching the siblings
and cousins banter back and forth with a rather amused smile.
She remained quiet though, not wanting to interrupt their
amusing conversation. The shape-shifter couldn't resist resting
her head against Cyrus' shoulder though, content with having his
       presence nearby.
Caoimhe giggled softly from her seat next to Valerian, rather
amused by her cousins' response to her brother's remark.
"When is the plane supposed to land?" Miren asked her love
softly, looking over to him with a curious gaze.

As he heard his eldest child speak up, and he felt his love
resting against him, Alabaster turned his head to look over at
Sophie. It killed him to see his strong, wonderful wife so weak
and worn-out, though he knew it was only temporary. The idea of
losing her broke his heart, but he continued to tell himself it
was only for a short period of time... That he would have her
back not too long after he had to let her go. The vampire
sighed, and pressed a lingering kiss to the top of her head.
When he heard his daughter calling for both him and his love,
Alabaster then turned his attention to Adelyn, before looking at
the picture she had drawn. The vampire chuckled, and offered the
child a smile in response. "I think your mother is right," he
hummed, "It's a beautiful picture," he hummed, before smirking,
"I think uncle Requiem would enjoy it~"
"What would I enjoy?" Requiem chirped, looking over at Ala and
Sophie as he heard the man say his name.
Sitting on the other side of Sarafina, David reached over and
slipped his hand into hers, giving it a gentle squeeze. The boy
allowed his thumb to run along the back-side of his girlfriend's
hand, a smile playing on his lips. Absently, he could not help
but look at her empty ring-finger, and the thoughts that danced
across his mind from the sight brought a slight blush to his
       skin.
When his sister came to sit beside him again, Cyrus turned his
head to look at little Adelyn. He returned her grin with a soft
smile of his own, and leaned in to kiss the top of her head. As
he sat back, and felt someone resting against him, he then
turned his head and felt his smile grow at the sight of Kristen
leaning against him. The boy rested his head against hers, and
draped his arm over her shoulder to hold her closer to his side.
Valerian looked over at his sister at the sound of her giggle,
and the boy smirked before resting his head on her shoulder. He
loved seeing her so happy. "You excited for the trip, Imhe?" he
       asked.
"Mmm... In about twenty minutes, if it's not late," Infinity
replied to Miren, gazing down at her when he felt her eyes on
him. The vampire offered the woman a small smile, and took her
hand in his as he spoke.

When she felt her love pressing a kiss against her head, Sophie
looked up towards his face. She offered him a sad smile, feeling
terrible that he had to suffer so much while having to watch her
pass away. After a moment, she slid one of her arms though his
so she could rest against him a bit more. "I love you, my
husband." She whispered softly to him.
"This drawing I made, Uncle Requiem!" Adelyn chirped, holding it
out for the man to take as she grinned at him. Her toothy smile
having a gap as she'd already lost one of her baby teeth.
The moment a hand slipped into her own, Sarafina turned to look
over at her boyfriend and she smiled brightly at him. The girl
leaned over and pressed a kiss against his cheek, not noticing
the way he seemed to be eyeing her ring-finger. Though she did
scent the heat rushing to his cheeks. "David? Are you okay?
You're blushing." She asked curiously, tilting her head a bit.
"What are you reading?" Kristen asked her boyfriend, smiling as
his arm draped over her shoulders and she snuggled a bit more
into him, though she couldn't be as close as she'd like with the
arm rests of their chairs getting in the way.
The girl blinked with surprise, before relaxing when she
realized it was just her brother leaning on her shoulder. "I
am... California is a very nice place to visit. Especially when
it's just going to be us for a few days without our parents
around." Caoimhe responded to her twin.
Gazing up at her husband, Miren's eyes softened and she gently
squeezed his hand. "Alright then. I hope the children have a fun
time in California." She murmured to her love.

Seeing Sophie's smile, though it was filled with sadness,
Alabaster could not help but respond with one of his own. "And I
love you, my wife," he murmured, responding to the words she had
said to him. The vampire kissed the top of her head, and sighed
       in contentment.
Requiem tilted his head to the side as the little girl held out
the picture for him to look. The vampire examined the colors
scribbled out onto the paper, and then grinned quite widely a
moment later. "Is this a unicorn~?" he gasped, "Oh, it's so
beautiful Adelyn~!" The unicorn-loving boy offered his niece a
smile, and playfully ruffled her hair. "Your mother is right~
You're definitely a little artist~ Don't you think so, Eve?" As
he spoke, the boy turned his head and offered his love a smile,
       eyes glimmering with joy.
David blinked in surprise as Sarafina commented on his blushing,
though he mentally cursed himself for being so stupid. Of course
she would pick up on it so quickly... The boy nodded, and
offered her a small smile to try and hide the fact that he had
unintentionally embarrassed himself. "I'm perfectly fine," he
hummed, bringing the girl's hand up to press a kiss against the
       back of it.
"One of my favorites," Cyrus hummed, turning his head to look at
       Kristen with a smile, "Sybil."
"The one about that girl with multiple personalities, right?"
Bela chirped, tilting his head to the side as he tried to peek
over his brother's shoulder to look at the book.
"Yeah, the one I tried to get you to read but you threw it at me
and said it was too long," Cyrus teased with a chuckle.
"You should read it," Harley hummed, looking over at Bela with a
       smile, "It's an amazing story~"
"Nah, too much effort," the youngest Cobrina boy hummed, sitting
back in his chair and kicking his legs up on Lestat - who whined
       and shoved the feet away.
"It'll be fun to get away from our parents for a while,"
Valerian hummed, tilting his head so he could smile up at
Caoimhe. After a moment, his expression became a bit teasing.
"You think they'll be alright without us~? Not having their
       'babies' by their side 24/7?"
"I'm sure they will," Infinity hummed, leaning in to press a
kiss to Miren's forehead, "They've been talking about this trip
for some time... I don't think it would be possible for them to
       not enjoy themselves."

Softness invaded Sophie's face as she heard Alabaster respond
and press a kiss to her head. She snuggled against him a bit
more, before relaxing once again. "How is Mel?" She asked
softly, turning her eyes down to look at their youngest child
       with loving eyes.
"Yeah! It's a Unicorn!" Adelyn answered, giggling as her Uncle
seemed rather excited about the picture and ruffled her hair.
       "Yay!"
"Indeed." Eve remarked as she looked down at the picture, the
slight ghost of a smile on her face after she'd heard Requiem's
       words.
Sarafina raised an eyebrow at the man's response, but decided to
let it go so instead she could smile at him. "You're very silly
sometimes, you know that David?" She remarked before shaking her
head lightly at him. All the while amusement was stretched
       across her face.
"I don't think I've heard of it... Sounds like an interesting
book though." Kristen hummed, before laughing as Bela recounted
the time he'd tried to read the book. "Well, I'm not daunted by
long stories! I think I'll read it once you're done Cyrus."
Caoimhe blushed a bit at Valerian's teasing, before shaking her
head lightly. "I think they'll be fine... Probably relieved to
not have Lestat and Bela around anymore." She responded with a
soft teasing smile of her own.
"I'm going to miss them." Miren sighed, even as her husband
       kissed her forehead.

"Sleepy," Alabaster hummed, turning his attention to the little
girl almost asleep in his arms, "She'll probably sleep the
entire way to Cali, by my guess." The vampire smiled, and ran a
hand through the sleepy child's hair.
Mel gave a small, happy noise, and snuggled closer to her daddy.
Requiem chuckled at the little girl's happiness, though as he
heard Eve speaking up he turned his head to look at her. "I love
you Eve," he hummed, leaning in to kiss her cheek.
David tilted his head to the side at Sarafina's words. "I'm
silly~?" he asked in a hum, his smile growing just slightly at
the sight of the girl's amusement, "How am I silly~?"
"It really is," Cyrus hummed, "It's based on an actual woman who
went through life with this disorder... And at the time, not
much was known about it, so everyone thought her therapist was
just as 'crazy' as she was." When Kristen spoke up again, and
said she might read it next, the boy grinned and turned his head
to kiss her forehead. "I'd be more than happy to let you read
       it~" he hummed.
Hearing his sister's teasing words, Valerian could not help but
laugh quietly. "I think you might be right, Imhe," he hummed,
lifting his head to smile over at her.
"As will I, love," Infinity hummed, pulling Miren close so he
could tuck her safely against his side, "They won't be away for
too long, though~ We'll be able to see the children before you
       know it, I promise."

"What a silly girl..." Sophie hummed, reaching out to place a
hand on her youngest daughter's leg. "I hope she has fun with
       her siblings and the others."
"I suppose, I love you too..." Eve remarked dryly, though she
smiled slightly back at the vampire as he kissed her cheek.
Sarafina's eyes softened and she curled her hands around David's
hands as he gripped hers. "Because! You blush at the simplest
things and you do silly things sometimes!" She teased the man
lightly, her lips pulling up into a smirk.
"I think I'd really enjoy reading it! Though it sounds rather
sad... That poor woman..." Kristen responded, her lips pulling
down into a slight frown at the very thought.
Caoimhe smiled back at her brother as he looked up at her and
she reached over to slide her hand into his grip. "I love you,
       brother."
As her love spoke, the girl buried herself against Infinity's
grip. "It's hard to see them grow up and not need us anymore...
I don't know what I'm going to do when they move out
       completely."

"I'm sure she will," Alabaster hummed, smiling as he watched his
daughter, "Especially since Sara will be with her."
As they spoke about her, little Melody had finally drifted off
to sleep, curled up within her father's arm.
"I don't blush that easily!" David protested, pouting over at
Sarafina as he spoke. However, there was an obvious glint of
amusement in his eyes as he spoke, "I think if anyone is silly
       here, it's you~"
"Yeah, it's not the happiest story in the world," Cyrus
murmured, leaning in to kiss Kristen's forehead, "But it's quite
       interesting nonetheless~"
Valerian's smile grew at the sight of his sister's, and when he
felt her take his hand, he gave hers a gentle squeeze. "Love you
       too, sister."
Infinity sighed at Miren's words, and he rested his head against
hers while looking over at their twins. "I know," he murmured, a
certain sadness entering his gaze, "I want to be selfish and
keep them with us forever, but... I know that won't happen. I'm
sure they won't stay away from us for too long, though," he
said, trying to lift Miren's spirits, "You know Imhe and Val...
They'll be back to visit us quite often when they leave." He
paused, and then pulled his head back to smile at his love.
