Probably not a good idea to start an audience expecting
something that they shouldn't.
Keep in mind, the special power formula was a Disney mandate to
restrict human fight scenes.

What Power Rangers has traditionally done, no special human
powers. Their power is their martial arts prowess.

I was just saying that not everything has equal merit simply
because it exists.
The special powers were one company's means to an end. They
shouldn't be re-introduced just because they were once forced in
by the previous owner.

That's fine, that's simply continuity.
NEW teams having special powers are completely different from
established teams that we've already seen having special powers.
