I think Brand New Day has existed so long that kids don't even
remember Spider-Man's past before One More Day. So it would be
something that benefits less peope than it would disappoint.
And if Peter's powers were the same as Miles's powers, there
wouldn't have been a point to changing Miles.

Peter and Mary Jane are already together in existing titles,
just not Amazing Spider-Man specifically.
And Peter is as strong as Miles, Miles is just different than
Peter now.

That's why the writers got booed for the Eight Deaths story,
avoiding Peter's story and just giving him more powers.
