Dominic West is a great choice! looking forward to this.
i wonder if they're going to bother with attempting French
accents.

Interesting. I remember her saying before how she admired Fiona
Shaw, especially since she plays male roles, but I'm too tired
to dig for it at the moment.
That was in the David Poland
(DP/30) interview she did while promoting Anna Karenina.
After describing how her original goal had been to do theatre
Poland said something like: "So you wanted to be Fiona Shaw, but
didn't have the face for it?". A joke - obviously - but it
seemed a little mean spirited towards Shaw.
Or at least that's how I understood it, but Keira chose to
interpret it positively saying how great it must be to be
someone who'd had the opportunity to play both great female and
great male parts.
Speaking of which, there's a very interesting character from
Colette's life who I think will almost certainly also be in the
film: Mathilde de Morny
HTML https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathilde_de_Morny.
But she was ten years older than Colette and looking at the cast
list there isn't anyone who really fits based on that. So I
wonder who it will be.
Denise Gough, at five years too young, is the closest match. So
based only on that she would be my guess.

Could be Rebecca Root? Matilde de Morny was a french noblewoman
who was also a transgender figure. Robecca Root is also one of
the few open transgender british actresses.
Trans in the other direction though, I think? We'll
see...
Shooting got underway this week in England. And if this article

/>is to be trusted they may already moved on to Hungary.
But no details about what actors have been or will be present at
any locations.
