I think you're getting a little bit ahead of yourselves based on
nothing more than a rumoured release date. :)
The Berlinale programme is made public this Tuesday. If this
film is included we should know a lot more before the end of the
       month.

There are lot of festivals that this movie can be shown: Berlin,
Cannes, Venice, Telluride and Toronto so we have plenty of
orpportunities! Just happy that it's a Keira full year whatever
       it might be :D

Well, no Aftermath in the Berlin lineup.
I think they're going for fall, which probably means a debut at
Venice, Toronto or Telluride. I suppose Cannes is a possibility
too, but I don't know how often Fox Searchlight premieres its
       films there.

I think this is great news. Nothing noteworthy really ever comes
out of Berlinale if we are being entirely honest. Keeping this
for the fall is a good indicator methinks.

Rhidian Brook, the author of the book, did an interview where he
mentions the movie a bit. he says he hasn't seen the finished
film yet but from what he has seen he thinks Keira has delivered
maybe one of the best performances of her life! :D
  HTML https://joykluver.wordpress.com/2018/03/08/the-killing-of-butterfly-joe-qa-with-author-rhidan-brook/
we'll see. i mean, he is the author and one of the writers on
the script too, so i'm sure he's biased, lol. but he did single
her out himself, so there's that.
i really, really hope this turned out well. i haven't seen it on
anyone's early expectations for 2018 lists, but that's probably
because the director is less well known. i don't think The
Imitation Game was highly anticipated early on either, not until
       summer, really.
maybe this one will surprise people at the festivals.

Well, I for one hope that we'll start hearing about when they
movie is supposed to be released, soon. It's been a year since
they made the movie so you'd think they'd have a final cut. And
I'm really hoping that within a few months we're going to be
told that both Colette and the Aftermath are going to be
screened at major film festivals before they debut in the Fall.

I feel like there should be a trailer for this soon, considering
it must be done by now. Same for Colette.
I keep seeing other trailers for movies that aren't coming out
       until the fall.

This is sort of guessing on my part, but apparently Fox
Searchlight has dated their other awards season movie, The
Favourite (with Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz) for the November 23
       release date.
That's sort of disappointing to me, because it shows that
they're giving their prime release date to a different movie.
They only have four movies scheduled for release in the fall, it
looks like they already have the October release dates set and
now November. That leaves The Aftermath for a possible early
December slot, but I'm not sure what to make of the fact that
they haven't scheduled it yet. I know it MUST be done by now.
They did have some big contenders that came out in early
December in the past, like The Shape of Water last year, and
Black Swan, but I think the studio wasn't sure if those were
going to be Oscar movies, because they were genre films. For The
Aftermath being a wartime costume drama based on a novel, I
kinda think they would have an idea, and I think if they had a
lot of confidence in it they'd give it November. Hmmm.
Of course, these things can change, since we're only in April.
Also, it was exactly this time last year that they were
announcing release dates for their fall movies, so if the
movie's coming out this year, i would expect them to announce it
       any day now.

I don't like the continuing silence around what is going on with
this movie. This movie was filmed a year ago and it seems it's
not going anywhere. It's really strange to me. I would have
thought that if there weren't much award hopes pinned on this
movie, they'd have released it in the early part of this year.
It just feels like they're sitting on this movie without knowing
what they are going to do with it. Not good, in my opinion.
