       Thank you.
I guess I'll give the book a try and see where it leads me.

some news on Twitter. apparently it's supposed to come out in
       March of next year :(
that's not an awards season release date, so i guess the studio
didn't feel it was on that level. too bad. i guess next year
will be big though, with this one, Collette and Nutcracker all
       set to come out then.

:( So basically, she'll have no movies come out this year,
apart from her small cameo in Pirates. That's really
unfortunate. I'm looking forward to her having a big year next
year but I wish I could have seen her in at least one movie
where she had a full part this year.

That's a shame it's not releasing this year. :( I think the same
       happened with his first movie.

I saw where the agency said "by March 2018", so I'm thinking the
studio hasn't decided yet. There's still hope!

Yeah, but the problem is we're already in July and by now most
films that would come out for awards consideration would already
be slated for release. Don't forget they're also going to be
announcing, pretty soon, the movies that are going to be at film
       festivals.
So, unfortunately, I think there isn't much of a chance the
movie will come out this year.

The Berlinale is in February so a premiere there could fit with
a general release in March. At least in European markets.

Looks like you were right all along ;D. It does seem very likely
now that the movie will be coming out next year. Given it's a
       German-American co-production, I again agree with you, I think
it's going to open at the Berliniale.
However, given that the Grand Budapest Hotel was also introduced
at Berliniale, this doesn't mean the movie can't go on to
greater acclaim. It seems that many movies, that were
co-produced by German production companies, go on to the
Berliniale instead of premiering at late summer/early fall film
       festivals.
It's just too bad that we're going to have to wait through
months of seeing Keira on the screen again, but at least we'll
see her in three movies next year.

I read the book! I actually really liked it. I can definitely
see it as a movie. Not surprised to find out that it was
actually commissioned as a screenplay before the author even
finished the novel. It kinda reads like one in some ways.
I think Alexander Skarsgaard has the best role in this, though.
The German guy is by far the most compelling character, imo. It
does feel like familiar territory for Keira, in fact, I'd almost
say it borders on obvious casting. The part of Rachael is a bit
thin too, but knowing how good she is in these kinds of parts,
I'm betting she can elevate it. I really liked all the stuff in
it about post-war Germany, I hope the director can make the most
of that part of it. I feel like WWII stories don't often go into
       the immediate post-war environment much.
