Oh, I thought that Keira would play that role. I thought from
the last headlines that Keira was the lead, but this one's
looking more like a true ensemble movie instead.

More casting news. Also Keira is listed as one of the lead, and
they are calling it "her movie".
Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine), Lesley Manville
(Phantom Thread), Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), Rhys Ifans (Notting
Hill) and Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey) are joining leads Keira
Knightley, Gugu Mbatha Raw and Jessie Buckley in dramedy
Misbehaviour.
Kinnear and Manville will play Bob and Dolores Hope in the film,
which is based on the true story of the 1970 Miss World contest
— hosted by comedian Hope — and its disruption by the newly
founded Women’s Liberation Movement. Shoot is underway today in
London.
Philippa Lowthorpe (Three Girls) directs from an original script
written by Rebecca Frayn (The Lady) with revisions by Gaby
Chiappe (Their Finest). The creative team includes production
designer, Cristina Casali (The Death Of Stalin); make up and
hair designer, Jill Sweeney (The Theory Of Everything); costume
designer, Charlotte Walter (The Guernsey Literary And Potato
Peel Society); director of photography, Zac Nicholson (The Death
of Stalin); and editor, Una Ni Dhonghaile (Three Girls).
Claiming that beauty competitions demeaned women, the
newly-formed Women’s Liberation Movement achieved fame by
invading the stage and disrupting the live broadcast of the 1970
competition, then at the height of its popularity. When the show
resumed, the result caused uproar: the winner was not the
Swedish favourite but Miss Grenada – the first black woman to be
crowned Miss World.
The film is being produced by Suzanne Mackie (The Crown) and by
Sarah-Jane Wheale. Executive producers are Andy Harries and
Rebecca Frayn for Left Bank; Cameron McCracken and Jenny Borgars
for Pathé; Rose Garnett for BBC Films, Natascha Wharton for the
BFI; and Andrea Scarso for Ingenious. Pathé reps sales.
Me, too! I love the cast. I think the story is tremendously
interesting and I've also looked up the director and she is
quite accomplished. I also like that one of the production
companies is Pathe.
I think this will be a good one for Keira and the rest of the
cast and very different from what she's done so far.

Great ensemble. I hope this is a fun dramedy and a box office
hit. I am getting Pride (2014 movie) vibes from this.

Yay! she's gonna look so cute in 70's clothes! :-*
I also wonder if this might possibly come out late next year.
It'll be done by then I'm sure and ready by the time of say,
Toronto. I just have a really good feeling about this one, I'm
not sure why (because it's not like I know this director or
anything). But I get good vibes from it.
If Official Secrets and this both come out next fall (and
Aftermath in the spring, but i'm kinda shaky on that one, since
it was filmed so long ago), 2019 could be quite a year for her.
And with two non-period movies coming out (assuming both are
good), I think that will finally stir up a push for her to be
recognized.

None of her recent movies seem like awards contenders to me, so
I don't see her getting recognized for them. However,
Misbehavior looks like it could be a breakout box office hit and
right now, I want her to be in a widely seen movie than an
awards contender (both would be nice but I am not pushing my
luck). I want to be able to see her in a theater near me for
once. I just want her to be a widely seen and widely loved fun
popcorn flick. That's all I want for 2019.

The Guardian has Misbehaviour on their list of most anticipated
movies of 2019, so this may well come out next year. I would
assume both this and Official Secrets would be in the fall, with
Aftermath in the spring.
Could be a big year for Keira!
