I Think That M. Madeline Is Going To Confess That He Is Jean
Valjean Because He’s Going To Feel Guilty About Putting The
Wrong man In Jail. When He Gets Arrested Though I Think He Is
Going To Try To Break Out Again. Since He Is The Mayor, He Has
The Key To The Jail So He’s Going To Break Out And Try To Hide
By Running To A Different City And Do The Same Thing He Did In
That Montreal Place

Jean Valjean has many thoughts on both turning himself in and
keeping quiet to let Champmathieu go in his place. Either
possibility is likely, considering Valjean is kind and helps
people, but he also wants to keep himself safe. That one seems
to be his priority. In the writing, Valjean’s thoughts first
sound as if he feels guilty, that he might confess to being
Jean. But the farther he goes into meditation in the dark room,
the more he realizes his position. He held the power. Valjean
wanted to remain hidden and out of prison. From lines 140 to
line 152, Valjean had made his decision, he relit his candle,
knowing he was safe. He thinks of how Javert had been trailing
him, and was thrown off the trail. He says, “What ma I afraid
of? Why am I pondering these things? I am safe…” then, “He
caught his Jean Valjean.”

I think Jean Val jean will not turn himself in. I think this
because he says at the end “. He is satisfied, he will leave me
in peace, and he caught his Jean Val jean!” this means that
since Javert told Jean Val jean that he caught “Jean Valjean”
the real Jean Val jean thinks he doesn’t have anything to worry
about. He is wrong though because he was the one that did wrong,
and that innocent man shouldn’t have to suffer for Jean Val
jean. If I was Jean Val jean I would turn myself in because that
is the right thing to do. Jean Val jean thinks they caught this
man; they won’t be after me anymore. I won’t have anything to
worry about. The guilt is what he would have to live with if
that innocent man dies or gets hurt in jail. Val jean just
thinks that this man has just simply bad luck. I know Val Jean
wouldn’t be happy if he had to go back to jail. Is the right
thing to do though. He did the crime, so now he can do the time.

I think he will not turn his self in. I think Jean is thinking
as if the person he was in the past is gone. Like that’s not me,
as if he died and started all over. The old him is dead, so why
does he deserve this? Why is he thinking about something like
this when he knows he wouldn’t do such a thing? His life has
just begun!
Backup points.

pondering these things? Now I’m safe. It’s all over. There
was only a single half-open door through which my past could
invade my life; that door is now walled up forever! Line 146.
-this statement is saying, why I am scared to basically be who I
am. He’s saying leave the past where it belongs because he moved
on and he has forgiven himself for doing wrong. He’s not going
to punish himself.
•
Jean Val jean! Line 151.
-This statement is stating that his past has left him alone now
he can move on, for the fact someone committed the same crime
and will get the same punishment. So, basically the guy who
stole the apples was danged either way because, one way or
another he was going to jail.

My argument is that Jean Valjean will not turn himself in. jean
was thinking that he succeeded in getting away with selling the
bishops silverware an that he didn’t get caught. He said any
event in the past should never come back to the present day.
Even when listening to Javert he got a little jumpy and wanted
to run away as fast as he could but didn’t and stayed to see
what he had to say. It seemed to Jean that when they heard that
they had caught Jean Valjean that he should be the one that got
caught not some innocent man. He was thinking I must be a master
mind if I could get away and they caught another man for my
mistakes. Why is Jean pondering its all over? He is satisfied
that they caught Jean Valjean.

I Think He Is A Honest And Trusting
Decision Is To Turn Himself In , And that’s What I Think he
Will Do .That Would Be The Right Thing To Do . Line 151 “He is
satisfied, he will leave me in peace, he caught his Jean
Valjean!” I Think he Satisfied With His Decision .

with his life and stay M. Madeleine so he doesn’t get caught and
go and live in prison for the rest of his life. He will keep his
mouth shut and let the other guy go to prison and move on. He
will forget about the past. In the writing, Valjean’s thoughts

I think he is going to confess of steeling all of the silver.
Because he is going to feel bad cause he put the wrong man in
jail. I think he is going to get back in jail and then try to
brake out again. He is going to get out and then run to a
different country so he don’t get in trouble.
