Claiming POIs.

Currently the POIS are all changed so there are fewer of what we
once knew as POIs and hence fewer POIs.
You cannot land-claim or make a base within (on the PvE side of
the map):
Working stiffs (hardware Stores)
Shamways (Grocery Stores)
Shotgun messiahs (Gun Stores)
Crack A book (Book Stores)
Pop n Pills (Hospitals and Pharmacies)
Banks
Red Mesa (Missile Silos)
Army Barracks and camps
Police Stations
Post offices
Again, the above is PvE; PvP players can build inside these (but
not land-claim them). This of course, as of now, pertains to
POIs outside of cities/towns.
PVP players can claim anything in the PVP area not inside a
city/town.
Now even though you may not land-claim these; you may feel you
can set up base there. You cannot. The exception is if you
fortify the building to survive the night or preserve its
integrity so that it will be around in the future.
The thought process behind such rule(rules) is:
Land-claiming and/or blocking in valuable POIs only serves as an
act to keep other players out. This is a player taking an action
which is directed against another player. PVP.
I do not want multiple people potentially every claiming
valuable POI within X radius and forcing people to go further
and further afield. The loot re-spawn is 7 days, and you can buy
workingstiff and shotgunmessiah crates in the stores. Of course
this is a worst possible case scenario; I'm just saying where
this could lead.
If you build a base inside, your doors could block someone.
Also, because we are not permitted to base inside these...even
though it is PvE... players could go through your chests,
containers, etc. I don't want bad feelings or accusations flying
so you cannot base inside these buildings.
I appreciate the fact some of you may be considerate enough to
leave chests and doors unlocked. However; doors can be locked
and prevent entry. This is exacerbated by a land-claim.
If you are going to play PVE you will need to learn to share the
world to some degree and if you want to claim whatever you wish
then you must go to the PVP side.
PVP is the great balancer; PVE-sided players have no recourse
except to go further afield if someone land claims POIs, or if
they wish, they can register a formal complaint with me in
notifying me of a lack of adherence to these rules.
If you wish to go hermit, feel free. Your play-style preference
is yours alone, just realize that on a MP server you have to
allow for other players.
Even as a solo act these rules will help you as larger groups or
more hardcore players won't be able to claim everything.

totally agree, coming from a pve builder hermit.
now if I could only convince you to have cement and rebar
recipes stock instead of rare books.....

Does this apply to people who claimed before the rule
reinstated? Because I've claimed one a while ago under the rule
that you still could.

I dont think you could have done so before the rule went into
effect since it has always been in effect on this seed.

nothing new here but glad you clarified as we have a much larger
play pop this seed and now it should be clear to all.
Looking forward to next seed with added recipes custom blocks
gated difficulty and custom items ..bring it on.
