       Two suggestions...

Would it be possible to save all the regions of the map (which
would included our construction) when a new update happens then
load that saved data back in and regen the ares you normally
regen so we dont have to build all over again and again?
I am assuming that your server is on East Coast time based on
the pattern of people logging on and off andif so would it make
sense to have a trusted West Coast based admin with the ability
to reset the server if necessary as you would be fast asleep?

I am in full agreement with you about a west coast admin and I
will talk to you about that later when you get on. I would need
to discuss that with you on teamspeak though. But as to saving
player builds, it just isn't feasible given the server tools
       available right now.

The builds can be saved by the act of saving region files of the
map (I did that via FTP on the server i have) - which would have
been awesome prior to the regen of the army base area 1,-1 :(

Yes, that could have been done this time had I know to save that
region file first. Let me first say that I feel very bad that
your build was lost to this regen. I have offered my help with
building assistance and by offering a share in my resources
because I feel bad about what happened to you. I have also just
made the regen map its own page on our website to help prevent
this from happening in the future. -

I do feel as though I made clear what the regen areas were in
advance when I "pushed" this announcement back at the beginning
       of 8.2 -

       An
email was sent to EVERYONE registered to the forum. As to your
statement about saving regions to import back into the game
after an update, this is not at all possible because it would
"overwrite" any changes made to the terrain/ore etc. by the
update and negating those updates for the entire region. This
would also likely create errors and add instability to the
server. The ONLY way to save a build would be to save them as a
custom prefab file. Unfortunately you still run the HIGH risk of
creating glitches in future builds which is why I have only
added custom prefabs that I have thoroughly tested on my clone
of our server on my personal PC. It's just too difficult to save
player builds at this point. That is why the developers have
stated numerous times in the forums that server wipes are
REQUIRED after every update unless they say otherwise.
