New PvE Rule!
DIR By: Madman
Date: April 23, 2015, 6:23 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
No raiding in the PvE area at all in any fashion
unless......
The only exception would be if an admin authorizes a raid.
The north is essentially care-bear land; no raiding anything
that looks like a player lives there. Below lies further
clarification to ensure players don't abuse these rules.
No building or land-claiming inside cities/towns, and no
building inside or land claiming /preventing access to certain
POIs.
A post concerning which prefabs to control is here
HTML http://kamcraft.createaforum.com/general-discussion/claiming-pois/<br
/>and may be extended in the future.
If you do not understand this or have any further questions,
please post here.
Players will only know it is another players base by the "ping"
of claim stone protection or by the fact it is player-occupied
by player-made blocks/doors, chests, sleeping bags, spikes
etc..and this is why we recommend placing a land claim down even
if it seems obvious you occupy that building. You can also place
signs up reminding players that the base is not to be
raided...but please, no inappropriate language.
You may think it is obvious, but to a new player or a
long-absent player may not know or recognize what is or is not a
prefab, and this holds especially true with the number of
inventive players we have building on this server.
I do not want to constrain or restrict players unnecessarily I
want as few rules as possible; however it is necessary to have
rules to ensure fair play and avoid confusion.
The PvE side seems relatively simple; however, there are many
"gray areas" that exist. Even with the best intentions mistakes
happen and there can be confusion. I hope that people use
common sense and not be sketchy because eventually all the rules
get confusing as people try to get literal.
If you wish to avoid confusion with near absolute certitude then
build a player-made base not occupying a prefab and not right
next to a city or town.
1) Use your land claim block.
2) Make signs.
3) If you wish to have no confusion, build in PvP areas.
Don't get greedy. I can view where land claims are on the server
map, so when I investigate an allegation of illegal raiding in
the PvE side I will see if you were trying to be greedy.
If you feel a player may be simply locking up prefabs or
placing traps/mines to limit access to certain containers (cash
registers, gun safes) inform me via PM and I will investigate
and take action if necessary.
We all exist in a sandbox of sorts on any map which has
boundaries. Part of the sacrifice we make for peace of mind (in
the PvE side) is to share space, loot, etc.
This is a large map, there are plenty of POI's for everyone.
Edit: h0tr0d.
To clarify--the only way your
player-placed storage chests are safe in the north is if they
are in a player's base.
This base has to be an obvious player-made/used structure with
certain understandings.
I had a few situations where PvE players were doing these
things:
1) They would place chests in certain areas and use them as
drop-boxes. What they were doing is looting an area, putting the
loot in a chest, and moving off to the next area, ad nauseum.
Then they could come back at their leisure and grab the loot
from the chests. What this was doing was denying other players
the ability to loot areas. I determined that was not to be
allowed as it seemed greedy to me and denying other players loot
on purpose seems to be a PvP action and not in keeping with the
spirit of our PvE side.
2) Once we made the rule about land claims, people would throw
land claims next to the same chests I mentioned above in number
1. This ran counter to the intent as players tried to work the
letter of the law and find "loopholes.
3) Some players would throw doors on every prefab in a town and
claim other players couldn't go in because of the PvE rules. I
also determined this to be a deliberate attempt to manipulate
the rules governing PvE territories versus adhere to the
spirit/intent of the rules.
4) Some players would throw doors, a few chests and maybe a
campfire and forge in prefabs they wanted loot from to make
other people think it was being lived in. This one is hard to
adjudicate because someone may very well be using that as their
primary base. I could make a rule that PvE players are limited
to one land claim and this most certainly is an option.
5) some players place traps/land mines to try and keep other PvE
players out. This is not acceptable and considered griefing.
6) Players would build bases inside a town or city next to POIs
for convenience sake and this conflicted with the intent of our
rules and the PvE dynamic we wish to have.
7) etc. etc.
Ideally we would like to just trust everyone operates by the
Golden Rule; however, misunderstandings still occur among even
the best-intention ed people. There is nothing inherently wrong
with wanting to wall of an entire town per se; regardless, in
the PvE area you have to share for the sake of harmony and the
peace of mind you are granted within that area.
Use common sense and when in doubt err on the side of
caution...if you have questions ask. I try to be clear with
rules yet I'll be doggoned if one rule doesn't lead to 10
questions which could require more rules with leads to 10 more
questions each which can get tedious for all parties.

There is no raiding in the PvE side of the map.
No breaking into people's bases.
No breaking open their containers.
No touching of their minibikes.
No messing with their crops.
The overarching theme here is to respect other players who
reside in the PvE side of the map alone.
Don't touch/mess with anything around their base. No changes,
nothing.
We want PvE players to have peace of mind unless it is dealing
with zombies.
If you engage in any PvP type action there will be consequences.

Hey Ammit,
0,0 City is PVP. But there was once a rule that said that not
just that city, but the entire biome that the 0,0 city was in
would be PVP. That part is not one of the rules anymore, but
the main rules page need to be updated. That's all.

For the pve area.... Prefabs with important loot crates (shotgun
messiah, apartment penthouses, food markets, libraries, and
sooo... this is denying other people to get weapons and
important loot for in game progress.
