Base question...

Hey guys. Thanks again for letting me into the community. I have
had many pleasant interactions and I was even pvp killed with
class, yes its possible, by Patriot. My man left me 10 stew for
my trouble!
Anyways, since I got word of a wipe, I decided to play a
different server to learn the ropes and prepare. I plan to play
GZ exclusively after the wipe.
Here's what happened to my underground bunker:
I entered it and I saw that I was broken into. I then tried to
dig up my claim box and sleeping bag but I was unable to do
damage to the stone or dig out anything at all. its like the
land had a force field with a strange sound when I hit it. Does
anyone know how they did this? As far as I can tell, they did
not find my box or bag. Can I lay out an additional bag and box
someplace else? Does a new one override the first?
In the end, its not my home server, (GZ will be) its just a
training one. But I would like to know what I can do in the
future and many of you are seasoned survivors so I figured this
was the place to get some answers. Thanks for reading!

Sounds like someone may have removed your Kstone and replaced it
with theirs.

Mr Smash,
I have been playing on other servers as well. Improving my
skills from raiding to building bases.
I have achieved an unraidable base and I guarantee it with all
raiding tactics. Unlikely most of you will say, but given the
server rules here at GZ, it is undoubtedly unraidable. Even
given certain new tactics that I have learned - also within the
realm of being legal tactics.
But to protect yourself. ALWAYS surround your land claims with
player built materials, this includes reinforced concrete (BEST)
to wood. Do not use unprocessed materials like stone or dirt or
ore. To make it harder, place your land claims in such a way
that they can not be found thru counting blocks. This is
improved if you have 2 or more land claims protecting a land
claim. Also, do not have them symmetrically placed. This
makes it difficult for you when planning, but makes it EVEN MORE
difficult for raiders. This is the best advice I can give in
regards to land claims. Everything else, well.....you will
either learn those along the way or you will need to ask
someone.

Not sure I understand the notion of "protecting a claim with
more claims." Could u elaborate? I'm with u about the materials
though

A land claim block - its a block you start with when you fresh
spawn - this block protects an area where ever you place it (I
cant remember if its 15x15 or 30x30) - when you place this block
you essentially claim that area as you own and you get "an
invisible force field" as you described it within that radius,
which "buffs" the blocks around it to make them more secure.
What someone means by "multiple claims" is the use of multiple
land claim blocks, you spread them out to cover larger areas.

Thanks Niknaks.
and on this server, it is 31x31. With a radius of 15. So if
someone counts to 16 from an edge, that is the location of the
LCB in that axis.
Now, to protect land claims. If the radius is 15, you would
place 2 more land claims within that radius of 15 to provide a
more difficult time in "counting" blocks. I would not place the
2 other land claims on top of each other. You can place them
one block over and at different heights.
Good luck

Yea, for example you could build a base with 30% claim blocks
and 70% reinforced Concrete up in the air 100 blocks to have an
amazing base to laugh at the people below trying to attack you.
It may seem radical to you.... but what ever pisses off the
raider more, prevents them from raiding you more!

I know someone above suggested not burying land claim blocks,
but I have to say my favourite tactic is to surround it in
tungsten ore in the ground or walls then build around.

I wouldn't say leave them in the open. But burying them in
tungsten is not a good idea either. Tungsten has less strength
then reinforced concrete. It would take me 1/3 the time to get
through tungsten then reinforced concrete.
I would put at the very minimum, a 3x3 block around the LCB.
increasing it to 7x7 would be the largest. after 4x4 I would
look into putting another LCB somewhere.

Error in my last post. NOT 4x4, but 5x5. Always an odd
number.
