The issue being is if people dont see it before they start
the...... assault it is kind of a moot point. I usually place
mine at the 4 cardinal points of my bases a little ways off and
near prominent doors/entries. Just to be sure.

Yeah, we got to the top before we saw it. I guess it depends on
your base, but to avoid confusion and ensure no mistakes are
made usually it is a good idea to place multiples.
