I was thinking we should move the spawn timer so that it
translates to 24 rl hours precisely. Saving the game on Madman's
end fixes alot of our issues, but I was thinking about Rust
       earlier.
The game when I played was pretty non-stop PVP, and he loot
timer was a matter of minutes.
While I am not suggesting we go to a minute respawn, or 3-day
respawn for loot, I think we should try to lower it to encourage
people from constantly expanding for loot. Those who want to
will, those who would not mind a little pvp will be able to go
       for it easier.

I haven't weighed in on this because last week or so I have not
       had much time to play.
However, in the time I was playing more and this build has been
ongoing (no wipes) I can say that the loot is the least of my
problems. Buggy zombies and other stuff have been more
problematic for me so I don't really care if we keep the 30 day
loot timer or not. I chose to be a nomad this time around and
after wandering endlessly for days and days, only living out of
a backpack, loot respawning isn't a concern either.
Now if I were trying to work with a team again like last time, I
might notice more and have more opinion - again, that's
playstyle coming in as Aknot pointed out.
I *do* have a little storage hole and was living a
semi-sustainable life on foraged corn and meat from animals.
It's actually quite possible now that they've added much more
'natural' resources to the game. You are no longer restricted
into the endless canned-food-grind so again - even being near an
abaondoned city, I'm not needing to go there to loot.
The only thing that bugs me about NO loot respawn (or broken,
too long respawn) are those rare items like schematics, beakers,
auger or .44 parts, etc. ... where would we get those things if
the community is so tiny no one's really online at the same time
to trade or establish any sort of commodity system?
Being nomadic, I've passed up a LOT of good loot - left it there
in the container, simply because I couldn't carry it all. Maybe
if we had a way to 'deposit' those sorts of items in return for
a currency of sorts, I'd have picked it up, used the valuable
slot in my backpack and transported it to wherever I could get
       something for it?
Point is: Nomadic playstyle doesn't lend to community
       socializing. Period.
I get it that's why Spider and 3rd want no loot respawn - to
'encourage' more social interactions and trading. I'm only
playing nomadic because that's what I chose to do. I can also
choose to be really social and join a team, I've done that too.
Not everyone is like me though and I can't force players to be
       social.
To me the bigger problem seems to be the game's still infancy
alpha status. Players are not yet taking the game very seriously
and all the wipes are keeping me and others from really wanting
       to build anything substantial.
In fact, I'm taking a break right now. I was starting to get
sick of zombies. Again. I don't want to burn out on this game
before it's even finished. I intend to play it long term but who
knows how long that could be before development is done. The
Pimps are amazingly active and I'm happy about that - one of the
main reasons I chose to buy the game.
But anways, I don't really think changing the loot timer to
shorter or longer is going to make a lot of difference right
       now.

       My $0.02
Leave the 30 day loot respawn alone. I have not experienced a
shortage in scavenging, AT ALL. I have have farmed, I have
scavenged , I have hunted, mined very well, and at no time do I
believe that we have been short. Also to give perspective I
have been able to supply well enough to support the building of
an entire base. I did this all in the same area largely of
1.5k. and the only time I ventured out of that area was to go to
the city to ransack a base. It wasn't cause I needed more
supplies. Only piece that I had to travel abroad for was an air
filter. With some work, it's pretty easy to keep yourself
       supplied.
Lack of player interaction has nothing to do with loot
respawning. I believe this is a completely misplaced argument.
"Loot respawn frequency ≠ player interaction"
What it has to do with is the lack of players on the server.
Like myself, as of recently, and by the sounds of it a few
others have been really life busy. That means a bunch fewer on
the server. When I had been getting on, which was over a week
ago there was maybe six players at any given time. The players
that I interacted with, or shot at, were the same three players
or so. Of those various five or six players all of them seem to
be the same names on all the time. To get player interaction
you a mass of different players logging on over a spread of
       time.
In summary, let's do a player drive, not drive the loot repawn
       up.

I agree with you 3rd. I was thinking the same thing. It won't
take long to get more players though. All I need is a post in
the official forums that we are accepting new players. I am
doing that today so expect new players soon.

Yeah, I had some limited free time this past Friday night around
10:30 PM. Me, Aknot and Spider. Then a few others joined. By
11:30 it was just myself and an OF member. I was tired and
dropped too. Will be done with my show on 10/3 and then heading
down to Hilton Head the following week. Should be back to some
"normal" game playing around 10/24. Plus I figure once the
Fall/winter arrives, we may see an influx as us winter shut-ins
(speaking personally, hate the cold) turn towards the warmth of
       electronics. Ha. 8)
Edit: Just realized I contributed nothing to the topic. I am
still fine with whatever "loot" gets thrown my way. I always
find enough to support my "loner" wanderings. I figure next
server wipe I may venture out into the land of human and
intermingle team-wise to change things up. :o

In all seriousness though, thank you for the donation to the
server (Again). You are a pretty cool cat! ;D
On a side note, I have been on the last couple of evenings and I
do intend to continue be on more often so I hope to see you
       online soon.

As for addressing the population concerns, I have already posted
the following on the official forums. Feel free to post any
words of encouragement to prospective new players on that thread
(link posted below) if you would like to wet their appetites as
to the tastiness of our community, lol. ;D

The post was originally due to no loot re-spawning at all, the
saving before reboot seems to address that. \
We timed the game day, while 2115-0645 is 35pct of a 24 hr game
day, the game day actually was just about 1:30 rl time. So it
isn't 60 minutes for a game day atm, this could be related to
the clock issues reported since past few updates.
Night time also does not account for the additional 30 minutes,
that would be adding on 50pct. IN other words the game daytime
is not 60 minutes with the 35pct night being the remaining 30
       minutes. That would be 50pct.
My guess is game clock is just screwy, as it stands now loot
       re-spawns at 1.5 rl days.

I have been running 10,000 - 20,000 in any direction away from
groundzero to find much needed sniper parts so I would be better
equipped to engage in some PVP in or around the GZ city. I
wouldn't travel that far if the loot timers were at the very
least working properly on the 30 day cycle.
What is the difference between 30 day loot and say 15 day loot?
30 Day: You run for an hour or so (away from almost all
possibility of PVP) and find a city that no one has been to and
all you get is some more fricken rockets so you keep running.
15 Day: You hang out near GZ and check neighboring cities for
whatever it is you're looking for (this has a much higher chance
of PVP) and now you can actually use your newly acquired rockets
       on someone.
Quicker timer doesn't change anything, it just keeps people from
wasting hours and hours of running away from player interaction.
       imo
