So what I’m hearing is you have all the resources and loot you
need, you are not having trouble finding normal loot items, but
you do not like it when someone else beats you to a safe or ammo
box and would like every container you loot full of things you
say you already have and do not need. You would also like to do
this several times a day on the same container? So does that
about cover what your asking for?

Yeah all I can say is don't worry about it. Im through with your
asinine attitude. Your reading comprehension is either that of a
3rd grader or you are just an ass.
Im not calling you an ass you just appear to be that or a three
year old. I could be wrong and you are an adult that just likes
to instigate things.
You have a super day. I will no longer address you here or in
game.

Let me first say that I would appreciate it if you (Spider)
would no longer interact with HR and Aknot on the forums. I
don't mind you making an opinion on the topics but please do not
go further than that.
I am not saying you are trying to be a dick on purpose but if I
am to be honest, I will have to say that some of your comments
come across as being argumentative at best. It does feel
condescending and antagonistic at times. I don't believe that
is who you are as I have always enjoyed my interaction with you
and I think you are a very nice person.
As for the settings, I agree that there needs to be some fine
tuning needed to compensate for the bugs.
Thanks guys.

Pardon me, Aknot you said it well, but I will try to
over-explain things.
TL;DR
It isn't that we are short, I am trying to get better gameplay
and interaction on the server for all.
Specifically I want more player vs player interaction, and I
feel it is being hurt by not having loot respawn.
I believe (and this is a belief) that when the server resets to
address memory leaks or lag issues (maybe related I'm a dork),
it affects the cycle. I know it shouldn't but it goes back to
day 29 or such, and when I check things due to respawn, they
haven't.
E.g., I loot a city on day 28, after an update which resets the
map. It becomes day 45, and Madman does a server reboot for lag
issues. It goes to day 29, and on day 47 I check that city to
find it has not respawned. It becomes day 57 and we get a
server reboot due to memory leak issues. Server comes up and it
is day 32, on day 36 I check that city, and no loot respawn.
Something is being altered, and I (we) have not been able to
loot anything a second time. I have not been able to re-loot a
city I looted soon after the map reset, despite over 60 game
days having elapsed. My theory is that if the server did not
need to be resbooted for memory leak issues we should be fine,
but something is screwy.
To go with this theory, if you have a reinjured leg when the
server comes down, upon coming up, my leg now has 65 game days
left on it. SIXTY-FIVE.
So b/c of the necessary server reboots, I figured we could
re-address the loot timer. OR perhaps, b/c of the game clock
issues which are perpetuated thru rebooting.
To go with this, we have been forced to expand ever further to
find unlooted areas for our loot. This means copious hours ,
entire rl gaming sessions searching for loot, when I want to be
stalking players, and fighting. To wit, I feel pvp is being
negatively affected by people having to go further afield to
search for loot.
I am not trying to advocate a care-bear mentality, I am
postulating that perhaps if loot was more readily available than
it is currently (shit won't respawn due to bugs) pvp may be more
prevalent. If we didn't have to search for an auger/chainsaw,
or its parts, we would be raiding more. Munitions boxes are
plenty, but if they never re-spawn, sniper rifles won't hardly
exist here. And I feel if some of our loners and
less-pvp-inclined members had them, they may be encouraged to
fight more. (If I am poking around OF base and they have sniper
rifles, they may take shots at me whereas now they don't).
Myself, thorburn, and feragh have been trying to actively engage
every player/faction on the server but without a chainsaw we
can't feasibly acquire the wood we need to facilitate this. OR
an auger for mining ore.
As it stands now, the server is running as if loot is set to no
re-spawn. I don't necessarily dislike this, but for us, in
trying to get people engaged on the server, we need certain
items. We are willing to work for it, but it seems
counter-intuitive for us to have to spend multiple rl gaming
sessions running and then more are spent looting cities where we
may or may not get the loot we need to spend multiple rl
sessions running back to fight.
I didn't mean to provoke anyone with the topic; it just feels
worth trying out different options to find an appropriate
balance. I WANT everyone to be out engaging other players in
pvp, but I don't feel things are conducive to it as of now. I
was merely thinking knock it down to 25 or 20 first and try that
for a time.
I won't even go into having unlimited anything.

Personally, I like the 30 day loot timer... but ONLY if the days
didn't keep resetting. I've been scouting out 5 different cities
and their munition boxes for a couple weeks now, waiting for
them to re-spawn, but they never do... seems like the server
resets the days just before that can happen.
So until the days being reset, can be fixed, it seems the 'short
term' temp solution is to change the loot back to re-spawning
more often.
Ultimately, respawn timer isn't a game breaker for me... Even if
its 3 days, 14 or 30... whatever you are all happy with, suits
me just fine. :)

Madman did a save today so it didnt affect game days. If this is
the simple solution, I say keep the 30 days.

This is what I have been saying all along. We have (or at least
it appears) at least 2 if not 3 different play styles within
this server. We have the PvPers, we have a somewhat hardcore and
casuals.
Server settings cannot be tailored to accommodate all of them.
While Ive played all 3 in different games Ive slowed down a lot
both in desire and ability to 'care' so I fall into the casual
group.
I commend Mad and our little family for staying together as long
as it has. :D I wish it could stay together longer but the more
the server tilts to one group the more people you will lose from
the others. Its just fact.
Notice I never say one is better then the other or any such
stuff. Its just a play style. Some like it hot some like it cold
some like it somewhere in between.
This is why when people wanted to make it more difficult I
suggested people self impose restrictions. Make a choice stick
to it. You can make the game more difficult by choosing how you
play. Now PvP thats another story. I was setting up a PvP area
last map something like a scavenger hunt team based PvP thing.
No one really seem interested or the right people (PvPers) were
not on at the same time.
Thats another issue. Sometimes I can log for an hour or so and
see no one. Sometimes there are 6 or more people on at a time.
Its hard to team up when people have differing hours and the
such. Ive offered my home (for temp) to people that just star
out etc. so they can have a shelter and a place to get their sea
legs going...... n one has taken me up on it. (I could be to far
out).
Its a new game and stuff is still a changing however you will
see people flux in and out. The thing we all need to remember it
is a game for the player.... I just hope they will have as much
fun as I do playing this game.
