       Frames
By: Kzalor Date: May 13, 2014, 6:03 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Wisen notified me today that frames placed can be easily picked
up by other players. This creates a problem for people (such as
me) who would prefer to sketch out the entire structure using
only frames as destroying upgraded frames is an arduous, painful
process that makes building feel very unrewarding. At the same
time, I'd really like to avoid a situation wherein I build a
tower out of metal frames only for them to be looted before I
get a chance to upgrade them. To that end, I was wondering if we
might have a rule that people will not steal frames from other
people's structures. Given that some of us are still learning
the scaling and aesthetics of 7DTD (a much trickier process than
minecraft which took me many months to develop the art of
building large, to-scale structures/replicas), it would be nice
to have a least some peace around our project.

Being new here so maybe im nt caught up. I was under the
impression this was a PvE server with PvP zones. If that
assumption was correct I would also assume the looting of
anyone's 'stuff' (Not in a PvP zone) was heavily frowned upon.
With that in mind my final assumption would be you stuff should
       be safe.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I certainly understand your concern. As you may or may not know
we are still evolving as a server and as such have not truly
finalized all of the rules. Part of me feels it would be a dick
move to steal frames but yet I am not certain if we want to
eliminate completely all aspects of raiding as it adds a level
of realism and risk which in turn dials up the excitement of
being in a survival server. Hmm, I'm in a bit of a quandary with
this. Perhaps this would be a good question to put up for a
vote. Or at least get some other opinions on the matter. I do
not want to be a dictator as I am supplying this server for you,
the player community and I feel it important to get a feel of
what the community as a whole would like to do in these matters.
Then we can create concrete rules reflecting those desires.

I don’t mind the threat of theft, really no reason to build a
base unless it’s to keep people away from your loot the zombies
are no threat right now. I build my base to defend against
people mostly with traps and hidden rooms. As far as the
stealing of frames goes I think that’s fair game if you don’t
want it to happen then don’t leave any laying around, I’ve
already had some stolen that I forgot to upgrade but no biggie
just lets me know people are around. We already have the PVP
rules but I think we need to discuss Raiding Rules. I personally
would like to know that I could be raided makes all the hard
work in building a bass worth it. I don’t think a person should
be able to just pointlessly destroy your base but bashing a hole
through a wall and breaking into a chest that seems fair. Maybe
some kind of rule that says you can only raid people that are
offline and you can only fill your bag once when raiding no
going back home and emptying out your bag and coming back and
clearing someone out of loot totally. Ofcorse this would have to
be on the honor system. Maybe to raid someone you should have to
notify them that you are declaring war on them and that would
allow all warring parties to raid each other at any time. I
don’t know I know I want to have my base tested but I don’t want
       constant war.

I agree with you. I don't think we have any douche bags on our
server so I really don't see anyone going overboard. That said,
If someone does become a problem player it will be easy to deal
       with that person permanently. :)

Being a closed server means (IMO) you trust the people in the
environment enough to leave your door unlocked (so to speak). As
I get to know and play with you guys (and girls) I would feel
bad even thinking about stealing from you.
I dont even want to think how I would feel after we talked for a
bit about the upcoming patch, sports game etc only to find out
you broke in and took my loots all while I was offline.
Im stretching it a little. However I hope you understand.
The Z count/spawn I believe will be increased as will their AI
etc. however if you start down this path (looting others etc)
and the game changes as expected you may have a bigger issue on
your hands in the long run. (veiled threat??? mwhahahahaha
       sorry)
I was joking the other day in game about being Sweden. However I
am in this game. I will help who ever needs it within the aspect
of the game itself within my ability. However if you are
fighting, in a war, running from the law, having dogs and cats
living together I will turn you away.
The 'declaring' war thing Im all for. However both parties must
agree. You cant have a war if one country doesn't show up or
want to fight. Just because I come over to your place while your
away and loot doesn't mean we are at war. It just means Im a
coward. So I also believe for it to be viable both parties must
be online during any type of altercation. Or its just wait till
the other goes offline back and forth until one starts really
       hiding the good stuff.
The PvP zones I love. It is my choice if I want to take the
chance of me getting my head blown off by snooping around areas
that may or may not have friendly people.
Even adding special air drops at a certain times within those
zones to entice those that like to do that sort of thing.
With the new map size around the corner I will probably change
my mind. Just based on the facts that if you have to fight/loot
when both parties are on it will be fun irking people off that
have to re spawn all the way across the map for making a piss
       poor decision in attacking someone.
I enjoy this open discussion though. And so far enjoy the people
       online.
But please.. STAY OFF MY LAWN!!!
       ;)

I agree. However, with regards to Airdrops they will remain as
an undetermined, random location. It is too difficult given the
current setup to call specific drop locations and can be quite
       buggy.

Im at work and cant quote properly.
However is there a way to put a loaded safe/chest someplace? For
example Lets say you put out an announcement that on July 2nd
you will be placing said item in Gravestown and at X time you
are allowed to hunt. No one is permitted to enter Gravestown
from 12am July 2nd to start time.
Maybe on top of a small (made) hill in the middle of an open
       area.

I fully intend to be adding special events such as these soon
and will include a calendar on the website to keep track.
