Need help with coal.. Where is it on our map?

I look at Forest and Snow biom.. ::) Seems like it is not there.

Hypothetically, trace amounts of all minerals are available
across the whole map. But the answer to your question is: Coal
is most abundant in the Burnt Forest biome. You'll find that
the other minerals also have a favored biome (except Iron).
If you haven't taken advantage of it already, please use this
lovely map (courtesy of Madman) as a reference guide!

Look at streams of alpha 187 from the pre release weekend, (this
is how i learned) and see what a coal surface node looks like. I
see them in the green forest area. logs of coal below them...it
is not just the rock at the surface.
ill try to attach a pic next time I see one.
