How the server is paid for?

So I was looking at the fact that the server was down, and one
of the first things I thought was, "Mabye we should find another
host for the server?" Then that was fed by another small
corner of my brain, "since you didn't pay for it, what right do
you have to put your $0.02 in on that subject?"
Which led me to my final thought, "So does Madman pay for all of
this out of pocket?"
I am expecting the answer to this question is yes, yes he does!
So here it is, I log on, read forums, and enjoy a Teamspeak
server all out of Madman's pocket.
So I have a question for Madman...have you ever considered
giving us a donation button? I have no problem throwing a few
bucks your way to help pay for a servers that you have put there
for us to play with.
Just one of my random thoughts...just sayin.

I was thinking this the other day when he mentioned in the
thread about the server being down extended time for the
hardware failure / repair issue. He DOES pay out of pocket and
we all should probably pitch in a buck or two and help him out.
So get that paypal donation button up there dude!

Before I answer your questions, let me first make clear that our
host has the highest reputation and ranks highest for uptime and
stability of all of the approved 7DTD hosts. I just found out
that the "Shutdown" button provided on the remote console panel
is bugged and has contributed to some of our downtime. This is a
7dtd feature and not affiliated with our hosts system.
I will now only use it to do a "save all" prior to restarting
the server via our hosts control panel. This should save us a
lot of headaches. Also our host has been working for months now
to build a very advanced and comprehensive control panel for us
7dtd server owners. Believe me, most other providers are much
less reliable than ours. I have checked. Our provider is also
one of the few that offer more than 20 slot servers atm. Ours is
32. I think it is best if we just hang in there a bit longer and
give them a chance to show us what they got. Money is not the
issue either. Our host is nowhere near the cheapest. If there
was a better host right now, I would move us.
Now to answer your questions:
Yes, I pay for all of this out of pocket.
The hosting for the game costs $46.00 each month (This is the
best package offered and is for a 32 slot server)
The hosting for Teamspeak3 costs $6.00 each month (This is for
our 20 slot server)
I used to run a very large and heavily modded Minecraft server
and at that time I did have a donation/perk reward system in
place. It was fairly lucrative as I ended up making nearly $200
a month after expenses which definitely gave me encouragement to
run the server. It was far more taxing and time consuming than
this game. To the tune of at least 4 hours a night. It became
more work than pleasure.
I would not be opposed to putting some kind of donation system
up but at the same time it is not a deal breaker for me. It does
require a bit of time and effort running everything but it
hasn't become a burden really. And I really enjoy everyone's
company. You guys are pretty cool in my book. If the time comes
where I feel as though I could use a little help I will let you
know.

Been a great server to play on. I don't think I would really
enjoy this game near as much if it wasn't for this server. The
other ones we played on just don't compare to the level of
player interaction that has occurred here.

I think you should put a donate button in. Worse case scenario
no one uses it.

Hey man! You donate your time, alot! for our enjoyment. I know
you gain enjoyment out of it as well, but we can donate
resources as well as our opinion.
So a definite thank you mate!
