PVP Zones and Rules
By: Madman Date: May 12, 2014, 1:01 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Sir Longsword has made a suggestion for PVP rules of which I
agree completely -
"I would like to suggest/restate a couple of ideas for PvP
combat. First, perhaps we should make Diersville and Gravestown
designated PvP areas. They're broken up with lots of cover,
pitfalls, and zombies, so they make for interesting
battlefields, there's one on each side of the map, and they're
large areas that allow for a bit of cat and mouse. Also, neither
of them contain much for specialized loot. There are no
gunsafes, munitions boxes, wall safes, etc. There's just
standard loot you can get anywhere. Thus, it's not a crisis for
players to have limited access to them (specifically, limited to
whether they're willing to fight). Just a suggestion.
I also agree with Spider that supply drops seem like they ought
to be prime PvP areas. I know racing for supply drops is always
when I feel the strongest urge to shoot other players. :P
Finally, I agree with Cmonster that groups and individuals ought
to be able to arrange wars and skirmishes between themselves.
For instance, if the Grim Fortress (Me and Wisengrim) went to
war against Cookie Castle (Cmonster)."
Please vote!

I second these rules. Designated open PVP areas would be great.
Supply drops are obvious places as well. Now that one is
pretty hard to enforce, "Well I swear I thought there was a
supply drop over there, no really I did!" But I am willing to
take that risk, might be fun. Otherwise, gentleman's agreements
seem the best way to go outside of those two standards.

I'm cool with designated open warzones.
I especially like the idea of supply drops being fair game for
this as it gives a definite "Hunger Games" feel to it. ;)

Thanks - I did find that official pvp ruleset as well as the
post here in the forums for that.
My question over there was: What are the server's settings? I
want to be sure I understand everything including the mechanics
of the server before I join and start trying to survive my first
night!
PS: Hordes are insane now, not even on new feral setting... I do
hope you don't have the new feral toggle on because even without
it they are shambling demolition teams on their way to zombie
mecca. Pilgrimage is now very dangerous to structures in their
way even if it's not yours... (I'll post this in 8.2 feedback)
