The V-Chat

If at all possible could we get the V-chat running again. From
my understanding of the patch notes this form of local
communication now needs to be turned on by the server master to
allow it in-game.
V-Chat is an in-game chat that has a local radius on the map
(press the "V" key to activate and a little mic will show up on
your screen to show that you are live), and it allows players
who are near each other to communicate. This provides for a
more interactive gaming experience, and will allow players to
make the "meeting" with a little more information. For
instance, you can approach someone's base and "V-chat" a
greeting, which the other player will hear from their own
speakers, and then be able to react to either on text chat or
with a return voice-com. Likewise, if a player approaches your
base you can V-chat a local statement to learn if they are
friend of foe. This allows communication between players on the
map without need for typing, or telling the whole server, which
can facilitate trades, etc.
On this server we don't have to worry about people sneaking up
to your base and yelling through your speakers, or making ghost
sounds, so I'd like to see it reinstating. In-game chat is a
good feature for so many reasons, as long as you don't have
little kids playing the game.

Has V-chat worked better than it did back in June? That's the
last I played and it was supa-buggy back then. Sometimes you'd
hear someone and sometimes you wouldn't.
If it's working then I'm definitely all for it! I wear
headphones so please no jumping up from behind a shrub screaming
like a spider zombie. I'm already jumpy enough in the game. :P

@Lupa
Sad thing is I never knew it existed..... until I was in Diers
once (other server) and someone must have been around the corner
or something. All of a sudden through the speakers.... scared
the crap out of me.

I didn't know it existed either but that would be really
helpful.

It does exist and work but you have to enable client side from
your options menu. It is off by default.

Calling it the "V-chat" sounds naughty.
