Can't seem to spring into action

I am not sure what the problem is but I cannot craft a spring.
I have all three items in the forge. Anvil, Crucible, Tool and
die set.
I bought the skill, it shows 1/1.
I have the iron, over 6k.
The craft button is still grey.

You have to put 'forged iron' in the spot where to burn
resources. Took me about a week to figure it out lol

are you freakin serious? this is so odd, as I have been asking
people in game how come it's not working. and not once, did
anyone mention that you had to put the forged iron in the
forge.. WOW.
