Can't sign on to any 7D2D server

I am away from my desktop, so I updated 7 days to Die on my lap
top. Since updating if I try to play, everything goes well
until it actually tries to load into the server and then the
game crashes all the way back to the steam library. Cajun
watched as I tried to log in and said it shows I logged in to
the game and then immediately shows I left the game. Happens on
any server I try to log into and also does it if I try to play a
single player game.
So far I have:
Check my video drivers (there was no update for them).
Uninstalled and reinstalled 7 days to Die
Verified integrity of game cache on steam.
Tried logging in with latest version (15.2) with "opt out of all
betas" selected
Tried logging in with latest version 15.2 selected in betas
Tried logging in with latest_experimental selected in betas
Tried called the laptop a motherfucker.
The last time I tried to run the game on this laptop (about 5
months ago) it ran. Only after I updated the version this time
did it quit working. No other new programs have been installed
on computer since the last time I ran 7 days.
I can find nothing online when searching for the problem.
Anyone have any suggestions? (I'll check back here when I can)

Uninstall the game again.
Restart.
Go into registry and remove delete The Fun Pimps folder.
Restart.
Reinstall.
See if that works.
If you have win 10 hit the windows key and the 'X' key at the
same time.
select command prompt admin and then when the window opens type
regedit and hit enter.
Left Click on HKEY_USERS.
up top click Edit and then select Find. Type in the word Pimps
and click Find Next.
You'll see the folder highlighted in the lower left of the
window, just hit delete. It will ask you if you wish to delete
all of the directories subkeys blah blah say yes and when it is
done restart, reinstall and let me know.

Well I did all that and now it hangs up at "starting game",
sometimes I get "application has stopped responding" and
sometimes after a while it just crashes back to library and I
set a pop up from steam saying "opps the game has
crashed..............."
I'll try going back thru that procedure when I get some free
time tomorrow.

Well I actually got on the server once but game immediately hung
up and I got the "not responding" thing. Then next try it hung
up on "starting game". Guess I'll just take a break until I get
back to Florida.

I guess my next step would be reinstalling steam.
I'd also uninstall my video driver/card and reinstall just to
see.

Back in Louisiana. A new ASUS laptop seems to have fixed the
problem very well. Now if the kids and grandkids will just let
me have to playing time.
