what to do with copper fragments?

You put them in the forge and can make brass I believe.

thing is i need to upgrade my forge.. i made the tongs, emptied
the forge.. but can't get it to upgrade

I have to ask about zinc? Is it super rare or am I in a bad
spot? I found over 5k copper in a very small area, but in a few
hours I only found 407 zinc scattered over a medium sized area
filled with thousands of iron, lead, coal, and nitrate, the
complete opposite of copper.

Same, so i'm just asking if it's that rare? Zinc is horrible so
far.

It has the same probability as copper.
