New PC Built! Back to playing very soon!
By: Madman Date: December 3, 2016, 10:37 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Hey everyone. I know it's been some time since I have played.
Sadly, my computer barely ran anything as it was over 6 years
old but I was able to play 7dtd on the lowest settings. However
many weeks ago it finally decided it would crash after only a
few minutes gameplay so I had to stop playing until I got my
Christmas bonus and was able to build a new rig. Happily, I
received my bonus a couple of weeks ago and was finally able to
order all of the components for my new PC. I just finished
building it and I'm still in the process of installing and
updating everything which will likely take most of tonight. I
hope to be on sometime tomorrow assuming I don't run into any
issues. So far everything looks great. Amazing in fact!
I want to give a special thanks to my friend h0tr0d for hooking
me up with a steal of a bargain price for his pair of used
GeForce GTX Titan Z's. Without his generosity, I never would
have been able to afford such a graphics wallop. ;D
Below are two pictures of my new rig which took me the better
part of 6+ hours to build from scratch. I still have some
finishing touches to make and the paint cans you see it setting
on are not permanent, haha! They are there to temporarily allow
clearance for my DVD-ROM as it opens at the bottom. This, when
complete will be mounted on the wall so clearance for it will
not be an issue then. I am looking forward to seeing all of you
in game soon!

water cooled!?

Yes sir! The case is an open design and will only have a
Plexiglas front when complete. As a result the design requires
water cooling for the CPU.

I wanted to build a custom water cooling system with a large
clear reservoir and clear tubing but it just wasn't in the
budget. I may upgrade to that at a later time if finances permit
me to. But the current cooler is doing an amazing job for now.

overclock the hell out of it! lol that's a BIG radiator. 3x
120mm fans. I have mine overclocked almost 1ghz with just 2x
120's on a corsair radiator and it runs just a couple deg higher
than normal.
