Although not required, it would be best if there was some way of
recording your achievement or score after death. At least until
       server wipe.
I may be missing something, but it sounds like you would only
lose your levels and all that comes with them.
The structures you built and items you stored would still be
       there, unless....

I would think that after your last life all of your existing
claim blocks and storage containers would become owned by the
"server". Not only would you lose your levels and skills you
would respawn n*100 blocks away (i.e. 25*100=2500) and anything
that you previously owned would get its ownership changed and
all items that can be coded would get a random code assigned.
You might be able to get back to your old base, but you would
have to break in like anyone else, with bottom tier tools no
less, to reclaim it. This would make being part of a faction
even more important, as long as someone from your faction
"owned" a door. I think that if all of your stuff became
unlocked and your claim blocks were disabled/removed it would
too easy to reclaim your previous "life" and the mode would
       become unnecessary.
       My 2 cents.

Obviously it is still just in a concept phase with TFP, but
Madmole did indicate in a subsequent post that when you
respawned it would be some random distance from your old base
and that you'd have to contend with your own LCB if you were
trying to break in with your zero-level stone axe.
He also mentioned a possibility that if you tried to break in to
your own old chests that not all of it might still be there. It
will be interesting to see how they go with it.
I like things like this because it finally makes death
meaningful in this game. Right now dying doesn't matter, so
guys eat glass to teleport home; or bleed themselves out to stop
an infection. Or simply run headlong into a pack of Z's that
they can't handle, because, why not? Starving, but it is too
much work to go find food? Who cares--just die and you won't be
       hungry anymore.
7DTD is a fun building game, but deep down it is a survival game
first. Right at the moment, though, it is a survival game where
it doesn't matter if you actually survive or not. Features like
this will help there, I think.

Maybe normal death should become more penalizing. Instead of
just losing 10 points of wellness we should lose some of our
skill levels as well. I could see 5-10% being enough to make
death extremely costly at high levels, when one should be able
to take care of themselves, but at low levels it wouldn't be so
traumatic a loss and could be easily regained. If someone has a
100 armor smithing skill and it drops to 90 they lose the
ability to make those 600 quality armor pieces for a while, but
for someone dropping from 55 down to 50 it won't take them as
long to regain their former skill level. Maybe there is some way
to make it a single random skill that is dropped by 10% so it
       won't feel so crippling.
       Just some thoughts.

But it should be crippling, because...you know...you're dead.
(Don't mind me though, I'm the guy who plays single life games
       in single player)
