Land Claim Duration

Hi h0tr0d,
I wondered if you would consider increasing the LCB duration
(which is currently at 4 days). I'm usually on the server at
least a few days a week so it isn't a problem, but if we have to
go on a trip or are away for a long weekend then the claim
expires. That ends up leaving Southern bases especially
vulnerable. (The only time I've ever been raided was when I
came back after a long weekend to find my claim was expired and
my doors broken down.)
And since Land Claims have to be recreated when we come back (an
expired claim doesn't automatically kick back in when we join up
again after 4 days) that has it's own difficulty associated with
it: obtaining all of the Dukes tokens for creating multiple
LCB's and then (often) digging through multiple layers of steel
and concrete to go re-place the new claim again.
Anyway, I'm sure you know all of those mechanics already. And I
know that one of the reasons for a shorter LCB duration is to
encourage regular activity on the server. Perhaps though, for
the sake of the carefully-crafted PVP bases, can you think about
increasing that so that a long weekend or a business trip
doesn't automatically mean our base is easily exposed?
I'd hope for maybe something like 8 days; but if you decide not
to change it at all, that's cool too. Just thought 'd see if
you'd mull the idea over.
Cheers!

Yeah it's a little rough with 4 days expiring. I like it and
hate it at the same time. It's nice because you sometime come
across bases with expired claims and you can loot them, but
sucks when its your own landclaim.I started off this new seed
down South. Had 3 landclaims placed. But with my work schedule
I'm not online often enough and my landclaims expired. So I just
moved North and played for some time.
*I wish they had the programming so that after a landclaim
reaches its expired day count, the protection value begins to
slowly decay each day, instead of going to instant 0 protection
after 4 days. Once the player logs online, the landclaim resets
back to 4 days.
Currently I'm just wondering and exploring different players
bases to see cool concepts.

There is a decay mode where it slowly drops instead of all at
once--that is just not how our server is configured. That
doesn't bother me, though. I personally like the decay mode the
way it is. I'm just wishing we had a bit more time.
Even though I live in the South I don't raid bases of offline
players anyway--seems like there isn't much of a challenge to
that. There isn't a lot of skill required to grind against
someone's base when that player is offline. I'm more about
player hunting than breaking in somebodies walls just to get
something that I could have found more easily through normal
means anyway. That is just play style preference, admittedly.
I like our current settings for decay mode and even that the
claim is stronger when the player is offline than online. That
makes it easier to raid a player's base when they are online if
raiding is your thing (easier to break in, that is. But
challenging because they can choose to actively defend it).
It is just that it is so hard to replace some of those expired
blocks that I wish we had a little more time for those weeks
when real life stops us from logging in.
