Influx of new players and server upgrade/costs

Recently we have had quite the influx of new players for our
server.
I guess the secret is out!
What comes with this is there may be some lag and more restarts
required.
Madman upgraded the server we use through bluefangsolutions a
few tiers to hold 40 people; however, madmole of The Fun Pimps
has made his position in the clear they don't worry about
Multiplayer and are focused on single player or under a dozen MP
players.
I will do the best I can to provide support to make the gaming
experience enjoyable and may even bring my other server back
online which can be used for overflow.
I would administrate both with the same seed and mods.
Now all of this costs money for which we receive no compensation
other than donations.
This is fine; we don't do this because we want monies.
Yet it is coming to the point madman cannot maintain the funding
for everything we use; it is simply too much.
So...to the point...if you enjoy the server and your experience
here we do have a donate option available.
You are not under any obligation; however, it is one way to help
us keep going and you feel you are getting your "money's worth".
Only if you are willing and able.
I don't like even having to ask and as I said the cost is piled
up. We won't say the exact amount (unless Madman wishes); we
will just say you think about $100 a month for just one server
to include the free teamspeak. Every little bit helps.

Will do when I be able too, right now for every dollar I give
someone I pay 3.5 of my currency : / , Real, That s bad to me,
miss the times where I could buy a dollar with two reais.....
And I m not really in good financial time aswell, it s kinda a
crisis time here in Brazil. And yeah, dedicated server of 7 DtD
are expensive, probably Fun Pimps fault because of the things
you already explained. As soon as my financial situation get s
better I will help for sure ; )

I want to add this; please do NOT feel obligated to donate.
Do NOT feel bad if you are unable to afford to donate.
As a matter of fact, I don't even want you to feel bad if you
just don't feel like donating. ;)
However...if you are able and you feel compelled to do so, your
contribution to the server cost would be greatly appreciated. I
will always do my best to keep the server going as I have for
over two years now. Even if I am not playing, as was the case
for many months.

Just a thought to save costs, have you considered dropping team
speak pay service and going for a free alternative? I have been
using razor comms for quite some time and it is pretty good,
totally free and you can create your own 'community' with a
password, announcements etc.

another free Voice chat server program and i've used it for a
while with no issues on my end. i've heard some people don't
like it but i haven't had a bad experience with it so far. you
can set up separate channels for each group and whatnot.

While I appreciate the suggestion, Teamspeak only costs me $6
per month and I don't have to host anything on my computer. I
would spend more than that in electricity keeping my PC running
24/7.
All of the server costs combined (Game server, TS3, Forum,
Website, player perks, etc.) run close to $100 per month. People
are now contributing again and that definitely makes it easier
for me financially to keep the server running. However, I have
kept this server going for over two years with usually only a
small percentage of the server costs being covered by donations.
Many months with no donations.
My point is, there is no need to worry about anything. I will
keep the server going for the foreseeable future whether I get
donations or not, as I always have. Like I said before, if you
want to help out, great! If you can't or don't want to, it's all
good. ;)

I didn't realize teamspeak was so cheap. That is a drop in the
bucket compared to the actual server cost but I was hoping I
could help cut costs so donations go farther :)
