What would attract you for an event?

If an event like king on the hill was going to be set up, what
day of the week, and what kind of winning prize would attract
you for it?
Imagine you probably would waste thousands of ammo on that day,
and probably a lot of explosives or blocks + materials.
What would you want in return? Beside the fun off course : )

Weekends are the standard for events, since less people working
then.
If I were to participate in an event, it would need to be an
even playing field. I usually don't have thousands of ammo and
building material to spare for events.
I would be 100% down for a free for all death match, or even a
team vs team death match. BUT...have both sides start with no
items and make them start building crafting everything in the
arena. Can always have a few chests with items pre-placed as
well.

Got it, hunger games style : ) . I agree about the weekends, I
only asked because some people may don t have the weekends, so I
wanted to confirm it.
I don t have problems in investing resources in an event if it
works, my favorite one is king of the hill style of event, but
hunger games or team deathmach are ok too.

Archery contest would be fun as well. Have close and long
distance targets. Drop out of competition once you miss 3
shots, etc.
Would probably need real humans as the targets.....to confirm
being hit or missed. Heal, then repeat.

Madman created a hunger games arena once, and of the whole
server only I and 2 friends went.
Every time the energy is put in a good turn out never occurs and
it occupies too much admin time.
The entire south is PvP so maybe PvE players can placxe bounties
on PvP players or go south to see who gets more player kills or
scavenges x amount of items from loot.
maybe place bounties on each other and fight somewhere in GZ and
see who gets the most bounties...there are many possibilities
for you.
Try /bounty and see what pops up

H0tr0d , I m not thinking of something that would require you
to work and develop the thing, I m thinking of something that
the players can create and get invested themselves, so they get
interested in playing it later, I saw the post were you said
that something like an event should come from the players and I
agree with that, whatever that can be done should start from the
players, you feel more complied to play what you created
yourself.
That s why I came here to question it, to see what kind of event
can catch players interest, so people could give opinions and
get involved later.
The bow range thing could be interesting, it could involve a lot
of challenges, not only hitting a specific target, and the best
part is that it is cheap to who play.

I think hunger games might work out well and shouldn't be that
difficult to set up. Maybe even a group hunger game.
As far as prices concern, I would make every participant pay,
maybe like 10 meat stew, and the winner gets it all.

I like the idea. H0tr0d is right about our last attempt at a
server hosted Hunger Games style event. I tried it a couple of
times with little player interest. Everyone said it was a great
idea but when it came time to play, very few were available. I
had several other server events prior to that as well and sadly,
it is very difficult to get enough people together at the same
time to make the event successful. I think something that the
players put together could work just as well if not better. Have
at it and if it's something that becomes popular, perhaps we can
revisit the idea as a server thing. But I would have to get my
hands dirty to support it. Hotr0d has too much on his plate as
it is.
