*He can read and write (and could before TIE), but it is a big
struggle for him because of his dyslexia.
*His mother is an English teacher.
*He got an A* for drama and an A for art at GCSE.
*He went to art college because he wanted to fall back on art if
he didn't make it as an actor.
*He did manage to get into university but quit his fashion
design course because he found it too academic.
*He bought his dad a car when he was 13 years old and in
Coronation Street.
*He started attending drama classes when he was 8 after seeing
an educational psychologist for his learning and behavioural
difficulties. It gave him more confidence because he was finally
good at something.
*His mum used to help him learn his lines when he was a child
actor. She would read the script aloud to him.
*His dyslexia does not hold him back from learning his scripts
now because once he has read them he is able to memorise them
very quickly. However, he still prefers improvisation.
*He was in a play called Borstal Boy when he was in his late
teens. He played Charlie Milwall - the character Danny Dyer
plays in the film.
*He dated Vicky McClure for a while during and after TIE'86.
They're still good friends.
*He suffers from panic attacks, anxiety and depression.
*He did have a long term girlfriend before Vicky McClure, but
did not discuss it much as he wanted to keep it private.
*He used to do skateboarding with his friends back in Chorley -
there's a video on Vimeo somewhere.
*He goes through a lot of fads. One of these was indoor
bouldering (rock climbing).
*He suffers from mild alopecia when he gets stressed.
*His tattoos all have personal meaning and are generally
connected with people he has met who have made an impact on his
life. These include his parents and TIE'88 and Misfits
castmates.
*He saw a man die on a building site when he was working as a
plasterer.
*He owns a pet parrot called Ian who appeared with him in
TIE'86. Ian escaped on set and a search was launched to find
him.
*He feels a special gratitude to Shane Meadows. Before TIE his
acting career had halted and he was going off the rails. He
credits Shane and TIE with saving him and his career.
*He currently has a motorbike, but admits he is not a good
driver...

Yeah, there was an interview where he mentioned it. Lemme see...

There's an awful lot of interviews out there with Joe as he has
been in the public eye since he was a little boy. I read most of
them when updating his Wikipedia page a few years back.

Wow, fair enough! I've adored him for a couple years, but
haven't really gotten round to reading all his interviews yet
hehe
