What do you feel is the most important lesson you have learned
so far in this course? Please give examples and explain.

There are several lessons I've learned in Jewish Thought so far.
In general, I really liked when we discussed as a class about
the 13 principles of faith. I feel like these 13 things have
deep meanings in them, and I liked it when we talked about it in
class about which ones we disagree/agree and why. It was
interesting to hear what other people thing. I learned lessons
from these principles because when we learned what they actually
meant, it was interesting. For example, when we had the debate
(based of principle 1) on believing in G-d is a commandment or
not, I was put on a side I didn't agree with myself. It was
really hard to act in the debate and try to convince other
       people why believing in G-d isn't a mitzvah when I didn't
believe so myself. I learned a lesson thought; that sometimes
you have to learn to teach others even if you don't agree with
it, and that they aren't always answers for every question (such
as in this debate, there was no right or wrong answer). This was
only principle 1, I learned other things on some of the other
       principles (i.e. the prophet one).

I think that I learned mostly about prophets, who I may have
heard of once or twice, but I'd never gone into depth about any
of them. The Kuzari, I'd never heard of, and when we started
learning about him, i thought it would be about just another man
who had become religious and blah blah blah. Yet, he was so
fascinating to learn about because Judaism wasn't the only
religion he'd tried. And he felt Judaism made the most sense, of
all the other ones he went to, and he went to like four other
ones! His whole story was fascinating, and learning about him
was really interesting. Also like Flowergirl98 said about the
debate, i learned a lot from that. I never even knew that that
was even a possibility of being not a mitzvah, and it was
interesting to hear the take on what people had to say on
whether it was, or was not a mitzvah.

For me the most important lesson I learned so far was from the
Kuzari on how to be the ideal Jew. I think its very important to
know that anyone can be the ideal Jew and you dont have to be a
big Rabi to please G-d. I think it is important for people to
realize this in Judiasm because in almost all other religions
you have to be a very learned and holy man to be a good person
in your religion. But in Judiasm it seems to be much diffrent it
only takes someone who is a good and richeous person to be the
ideal Jew you do not need to know all the Torah or be a Rabbi
its good if you are but it is not necessary.

I agree with Flowergirl98. Personally I think that the most
important lesson we learned this year was about the thirteen
principles of faith. I really learned a lot going deeper and
learning the true meaning of each of the principles and figuring
out which one meant the most to me and which i disagreed with.
For example i really liked principle 2 because it says that G-d
is unique and i think that a lot of people like to describe
themselves as unique so I think that makes it a really cool
line. Then it says "He alone is our God, Who was, Who is, and
Who always will be". I really like that line because I
personally, from a Jewish Religious standpoint, think that that
line is true. Then on the other hand there was a principle that
everyone didn't like at all which was principle 6.
These 13 Principles of Faith really gave me an insight into
what Judaism is really all about and the beliefs you should
generally have as a Jew (obviously everyone has different
opinions). Each principle had a very deep meaning that would
take a very long time to learn completely.

i guess the most important lesson i learned would be not to be
angry. i mean, its really simple, to be nice to people, not to
be angry. but if you think about it we get aggravated every day,
or at least almost every day. its a regular human emotion, i
don't really think there is anything wrong with it. i just think
we just shouldn't act on it. because acting on it is what really
affects other people. but, being angry only really affects you.

the most important thing that I learnt is knowing what a good
       jew is.
I learnt that studying all day in the syngog isn't considered a
       perfect jew.
A good jew is someone who leanrs but has a jobn knows what the
real world is and can support his family.
I think this is very important and everyone should learn this as
       people often get mistaken :-* :D ;) :o ??? :-\ :'( :-\ :-X
this is the most important thing to know and i hope everyone
       listens. :-[ ::) :o ;D :D :'( :-* :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-* :-*
       :-* :'( :'( :) ;) ;D ;D

During the school year so far we have learned many important
lessons. I believe that the most important was what a good Jew
is. A good Jew is not someone who isolates themselves from the
world, but rather someone who contributes to the community and
society as a whole. I believe that it is important that all
Jews know this because unfortunately, Israel spends thousands of
dollars paying for Rabbis living fees while they study Torah. I
believe that if one wants to study Torah that is great, but one
should still support themselves financially. I believe that
everyone can learn a lesson from that.
I am anthonyrizzofuture and I approve this message.

I love the fact that there even its a Jewish Thought class! It
has really allowed me to express my thoughts rather than
listening to one Rabbi talk to you and just tell you all the
laws and why they think everything is so great. It may work for
little kids, but for a bunch of teenagers? No! This is the time
in life when the Jewish education you get really makes an impact
on views on Judaism, and I am glad I am in this class. In Jewish
Thought I have learned that I can have a voice as a student, and
it has helped me shape my beliefs as a growing Jewish teenager.
       Thank you so much!

I think that the most inportent thing I learned in Jewish
Thought is the ideal Jew. Most people think that the best
person is the holy tip of person. But in Jewdism its not like
that at all! All you have to do is look out in to the
community. You don't have to know the whole Torah do you? Even
the Jews who don't think themselves as Jewish but are really
trying to help people con be ideal Jews right? I personally
       think its fassinating.
