       Rambam Principle 10

How can knowing that G-d sees our actions and knows our
intentions affect how we run our lives? Can you find a
connection between this idea and the letter the Ramban wrote to
       his son?

Principle Ten of the Thirteen Principles says that G-d knows all
the actions and thoughts of man. This Principle can show man how
important it is to be nice to people at all times and never
speak Lushon Hara because G-d knows you did that even if people
on earth don't know and cant punish you, but G-d will. This
Principle relates to the letter the Ramban wrote to his son in
the way that you should always speak nicely and gently to
everyone at all times. Because the Ramban says this, obviously
he believes that G-d will punish you if you are rude to people.
However i don't believe that if you make a few mistakes by being
mean to people you will be punished very severely because after
all we are human and we do make mistakes.

I mostly agree with TheOnlyMrsEfron. I would like to add how
knowing the fact that G-d know ALL our actions and thoughts, can
effect someone's life. It can effect us because it might make us
rethink our intentions, and to ponder on that action. It can
make us think "is this a good idea or bad?" or "is this right or
wrong?". Knowing that there's someone out there who is carefully
watching us 24/7, will make us be extra careful on our thought,
speech, actions, and behavior. I disagree with the fact that G-d
will not severely punish us is we make mistakes. Yes, we are
humans, and we do make mistakes, yet that doesn't mean G-d won't
punish us. For example, one of the only mistakes Moshe did was
hit the rock, and G-d still punished him by not letting him lead
the Jewish people into the land of Israel. It was a small
mistake, but G-d still punished Moshe.

Knowing Gd is watching our every move can affect someone in
every single thing they do. Every little action the person is
doing they could be thinking: "A king is watching me" and they
could act as a completely different person. They would do every
action, probably good. This connects to the letter Rambam wrote
to his son because he tells him, do everything, every action,
every movement, as if someone is watching you. That was
basically what he was telling his son in the letter. Don't be
angry, and make every action of yours, as if someone is watching
       you.

I think that is can affect our lives a lot to know that Hashem
is watching us, so we can always know to make the right
decision. To always have someone watching us is good so we can
try to never even let even the thought of something bad come in
to our minds. I think a good example is when there is a
classroom when the teacher is teaching, the students will mostly
behave because the teacher is right there. The secound the
teacher leaves the children in the class will be more laidback
and will be talking and misbehaving even though they know its
wrong. They do this because no one is there to catch them. If
Hashem is always watching us and hearing all our thoughts and
seeing all our actions Hashem will always be able to catch us. I
think this can relate to the letter Ramban wrote to his son
because it shows us to always be a good person because there
will always be someone watching us.

I think different people would have reactions which would fall
into these three categories. One would be to say, "What's the
point in even trying to do good if G-d knows all my actions and
intentions? :(" Others would just believe in this and have no
problem because they were taught this at a young age, and they
did not challenge it. The best response would probably be to
say, "G-d may know all of my intentions and actions, but I
should still try to make a difference in this world." It is very
hard to live under this idea because 1. You can not just sit
back and do nothing (like Iggeret Ha'Ramban) yet 2. You are not
allowed to say, "I did all of this on my own!" Any help here?!
       ??? :o ::) :o ???

well, i think that the fact that we know that god is always
watching us is a little unsettling, and defiantly a violation of
privacy. it makes me sort of mad that we can't understand some
of the things that god does, and yet he knows our every action.
i think it also would like give me relish, if i did something
bad, i mean like it would also hit him like spitting in his eye
:P. i guess a connection from this and ramabam would be, another
reason for being nice, is because you can't hide from god. so
there's really no point to be rude and mean anyway it could only
       hurt you more.

I think its unsettiling and seems like manafing us in a way.
But it is nice to know someone understands me. It also affecs
my actions. I know someone is watching me and judging me makes
me want to ne good. And Igaret HaRamban, because it tells us
how to be good and happy. If someone knows these things and
falows them he or she would be the beat and the happiest.

I think that people don't always remember that god is watching
them. Whenever you choose to do bad your not thinking about god
your focused on what your doing. If you were to have someone
following you around all day you would limit your bad actions to
almost one. I think we have to remember to do actions in gods
name and don't feel like hes watching your every move but feel
like you want to respect him. Ramban gave many suggestions to
his son on how to good because you never know who's watching...

I feel that when you know that god is watching you are gunna
reAlly think about what your about to do. However in times when
we are really not doing so well or had a bad day and we do
something wrong without think well I know is watching shoul I
really be doin this. I strongly feel that that is okay once in a
while because no one is perfect and will remember all the time.
I connect this to the letter the ramban wrote to his son in a
way because how he says dont be angry and be happy . When you
are angry you tend to make bad dissuasions and not even think
about the fact that god knows what you did. Just like when you
       aren't happy. :):):)):)
