Jed, I'm curious if I've been interpreting my insights
correctly. As you know, I struggled with existential despair for
a long time (DNOTS).
I know that life has no meaning. But I can enjoy life now (in
moderation).
I will not run away from challenges. But I won't stay stuck in
crappy situations.
I don't believe my angry thoughts. But that doesn't mean I
shouldn't express my upset.
The good passes. And so does that bad. (basically, "I
like/dislike" is an illusion)
I know nothing will make me happy. But I do have preferences,
and I follow them if I can.
Basically what it boils down to is this: I don't take myself
seriously. But I do honor myself, knowing FULLY well that it's
all bull.
Does this resonate with you?
Feedback welcome.

Just checking in ... It's been a while Jed.
This week I had a nagging desire to replace my morning
meditation with a 1 hour walk. I thought I'd give it a whirl,
although, I was reluctant to let go of meditation.
I think I've discovered that walking is more effective at
breaking attachment than the 1 hour breathing session I did
every morning. I can think more clearly.
I wonder why that is.
What has been your experience, Jed?

My experiences are not important. You do what you think best for
you. You can't make a mistake anyways,
Love ya, Jed.

Got it.
Anyways, I think I have good news.
About a week ago I thought to myself... "Maybe I need to lower
the bar. If I can be happy with the simple things, I can be
happy no matter what."
I knew I could be content with little, but for some reason I
insisted on adding things to my life. Earlier in this thread I
was trying to find a hobby that would make me happy. All of that
stopped. What a weight I was carrying.
Anyways, I decided I would make walking and being in nature my
"hobby". Simple things.
Bam!
I am literally happy all the time. Cleaning, working, talking to
my roommates or random people that I meet. It makes no
difference what I do or what comes.
Who'd have thought that freedom was giving up control?
Acceptance.

What I want to know, what is it that motivates people to take up
on social justice issues like protesting and helping people? Is
there anything authentic about it that at all?
I wonder if it's because people have pain and then blame others
(like the system). Or, if they do it because they think they
should. Or if they do it because they want to fit in. Or to feel
better about themselves.
Is it all fake? Like 100%. Or are there a few that really care
in some authentic way.
I ask this because I used to admire these people and wondered if
I was deficient in some way. I don't share the same interest or
possess the same drive. I always felt out of place and thought I
was a piece of ****. Now I wonder if my bull**** radar has
always been accurate.

Dear Ivory:
Your B.S. radar is right on track. Now, gently turn it around.
Other people don't matter, only you. That's all there is. Don't
spend any more time or energy on others.
Love ya, Jed.

It was only a minor curiosity and I don't expect it to linger
long. It's hard for me to get real fired up about anything these
days.
Whether or not the question pertains to me or not, I can't say.
I do still notice a tendency to want to fit in from time to
time. I don't think there's anything I can do but notice it, not
indulge it too much, and feel any emotion that may come up.
We'll see.
Thanks

While I'm here, I do have one question that pops up from time to
time. What are the characteristics of H/A?
