Jed Rant: Couldn't resist one more quote
DIR By: Jed McKenna

Found this one and thought it quite profound:
“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to
find the ones worth suffering for.”
― Bob Marley
Of course, I have to mess with Bob's good words, i.e., The
reality is, every story is going to hurt you. You just got to
find the ones worth suffering for.
Love ya, Jed.

Every story is at least once removed from Realization of Truth,
and being removed from T/R is suffering.
Love ya, Jed.

Stories do not 'remove' being from TR merely through engagement
with them. The only way they remove (or separate) is through
identification with/attachment to them.
So long as a story is realized to be 'just a story,' the
feelings that give rise to suffering won't have anything to
arise from. Indeed, through engagement with the story, I might
at times feel a little sad or frustrated or whatever, but the
fundamental understanding that it is 'just a story' mitigates
the depth of any feelings of angst.
It's kind of like watching a movie that makes you a cry, feel
momentarily sad, or feel compassion, or frustrated for the
character.....the knowing that it's just a movie, means those
feelings arise and then just flow on through, without
anchoring..without issue...without being a problem....thus, no
suffering.

Good explanation Kiri. I use the word importance, or importances
as opposed to engagement. But we are talking about the same
mechanisms.
Can you find something that is not a story or an experience?
Love ya, Jed.

I think Sheryl Crow guessed it pretty early on
"I've been swimming in a sea of anarchy
I've been living on coffee and nicotine
I've been wondering if all the things I've seen
Were ever real, were ever really happening"
