No words for this but I'll give it a shot. We're not talking
about a "you" trying not to "think"... we're talking about
thinking that is happening, without a "you".
And it seems the same for the "choice' described in the OP....
a choice that's happening without a you. And now that I'm wiping
my bleary eyes, and coming back to the 'world'... it makes sense
to bring some of the vastness that I am into this world, and
there feels like there is some agency in that, but still not a
"me". Maybe more consciousness about how the vastness that is me
has it's hand on my tiller. And more fun in that.

"not pretend" is "not pretend". I shudder at the sound of " find
out" and "work" so, I'll pass. Thanks for the suggestion though.

" thinking that is happening without a me" is a bit too abstract
to give credence to. I don't generally believe anything that I
have not experienced. There being no "you" in any of this is
"your" belief. Your choice. What's happening "without you" does
       not exist.
       ...
So... cool. You guys don't identify with your story. Ah
source....Your choice and I can respect that. Now what.
Here I am knowing this and still able to explore from this point
of view. How awesome. Knowing I AM does not in anyway hinder my
ability to move toward or away from my preferences my inate
desires. I don't ascribe self limiting beliefs out of the ideal
that thought is bad. It just is and it is malleable. Empty. It
has no meaning. Did you give it one?
Now and so a true adept knowing this has the ability to yes seek
out what he or she desires without feeling like a victim of
circumstance or giving it some storyline. I see that there are
and I can view anything from infinite perspectives. Why not
choose the one that serves this experience in the most expansive
       and diverse way possible.
Fun. Yes choose to have fun. Choose to feel good. Choose
whatever resonates. Or not. Choosing to see your experience
through a lense of there being no "you" is a perfectly valid
paradigm to adopt. But with the knowingness that it is all based
in free will. So if it serves you or "no you" great. For me it
felt unnatural so I eradicated that ideal as well. I am the
final authority here and now. You have that as well. You just
apparently don't know it. Here is your permission slip. ;)

I wonder if there is a free will whatsoever. How does it account
       for any memories and the stories that come from it? For example;
if someone is referring to something that happened, I can recall
it and act from it. However, the other side would be: But that's
not now, thus irrelevant. A blank slate would make sense. I am
not what/who I was yesterday, so anything can happen. So does
this make me responsible for what happened in the past? That's
not who or what I am, so I reckon the answer is: No. I'm only
responsible for what I do now.
       Love, Mori

       Hey Mori:
Tell me when you have done something that didn't occur in the
now. When anything occurs, it always in the now. How could it be
otherwise. A memory of the event in the now as well. While the
even may seem to have been in the past, how could it be. When it
       occurred it was now...Hmm...
       Love ya, Jed.

Hmm indeed... The event "was" now, but this now brings something
else to the fore. What are memories anyway? From what I
understand you can't change the past, only the now, yet you say
the past was a now, so you can change the effects of the past?
This only gets more confusing than it was before, but I reckon
       I'm overanalyzing it as usual.
       Love, Mori

The past event occurred in the now, by default. All that remains
is a groove in your record. Grooves are just grooves, unless of
course, it's a James Brown ''groove'', then it's sooooo cool,
       outa sight.
How can you change the now, it's already gone, you (and I) are
just too darn slow to change the present. Our neurology is
always keeping us in the past, even if only a microsecond.
Operating in the past means we are always behind what has
happened, we operate on memories whether we like it or not, so
what could we possibly do to change the present. This is not woo
woo stuff, some basic brain science will prove this quite
convincingly. Of course, scientists are also operating on the
past, but very reluctant to admit it openly.
If you ever actually operated in the present, all, and I mean
all, would disappear because no reference would exist.
I trust I have confused you even further, but confusion precedes
       learning.
       Love ya, Jed.

That actually makes perfect sense, thanks Jed!
One cannot conceive a world with no reference though. From what
I've experienced, this dream is tenaciously perpetual.
