Attachment to the body

Hi Jed,
First of thanks for the books.
At around 20 I was diagnosed with mitral heart valve prolapse.
This information worried me every step of the way. I'm now 34
and this is still the same. Every time I'm faced with some
challenging situation (internal conflict, stepping out of the
comfort zone, going against others expectations, facing some
fear,…) it eventually affects my heart quite intensely (fast
beating, skipped beats,...). Quite a few times it even resulted
in a panic attack and I ended up in the ER.
Medicine treats cases like mine with antidepressants.
I'm still resisting the antidepressants but sometimes it seems
like I'm being irresponsible and foolish thinking I can deal
with this challenges without the help of drugs. Although it
would be really nice to get rid of anxiety and panic attacks and
not put that much pressure on my heart I'm not ready to do it at
any cost.
Every person that ever experienced panic attack knows that the
experience of panic attack puts you face to face with death
which is in a way a profound experience and always seem to take
you further.
I know examples when people take antidepressants and their
issues just "disappear". But I wonder how can you go further
when all is good and you feel fine? Aren't the situations like
panic attacks stuff from which truth realization is made of?
So my dilemma is… being responsible to the body vs. going
further at any cost. Any insight?

Hi Matt:
Thank you for your email and welcome to the forum. Your
condition is not something I am familiar with and hence I am
going to refrain from commenting on it. I really don't have any
answers for you.
Best wishes,
Love ya, Jed.

Jed,
Thank you for your reply.
Anyone else here has an insight (or better first hand
experiences) on my dilema? :)
Thanks!

Hi Jed,
yes, I thought I read that in the rules. No problem, I actually
got an answer!
Can you explain what you mean by "no choice" when you say TR is
only for those who don't have a choice.
Thanks,
Matt

In my experience, no body has any free will period. Just look
and see if you know what you next thought will be and what you
will do about it. You don't have a clue do you? Where is the
free will in that.
Love ya, Jed.

Hi Jed,
you could be right when you say no BODY has any free will. I
don't know what my next thought will be and what actions I'll
take based on that thought. But sometimes it seems like I can
choose the next thought and next action?
This feeling of free will is especially strong at times when I
become aware of my awareness. At that moments it really looks
like I'm in charge, at least to some extent. I can't make the
outside happen as I want, but it does feel like I can control
let's say my breathing, my reaction, what I'll say or not
say,...
How do you see that?
