       HA -> TR

       Greetings!
I just saw a documentary on Netflix called, Transformation: The
Life and Times of Werner Erhard and want to share about it.
Erhard had a business selling books. One day he had a
“transformational moment” and realized what his life was about
was meaningless and empty. The things he had thought were so
significant, like success and looking good, had no importance.
After breaking through the "sadness and despair of having wasted
his life" he realized he was free: "free to create a life that
       was worth living.”
He and his staff decided to do something radically different –
thus EST was born. EST was a forerunner to the “seminar culture”
so prevailent today, but was very controversial in the 70's and
80's. Leaders would challenge participants to break out of their
ego stories with direct (and sometimes borderline abusive)
       confrontation.
Erhard clearly broke free of one aspect of his dreamstate life
only to replace it with another he deemed more “meaningful.” At
the end of the documentary he says, “Life is ultimately
meaningless, so it is up to us to create our own meaning in
       life."
Instead of going further, he recreated his life within the
       dream.
Erhard's journey, as far as he took it, seemed at least early
stage HA. From what I've described, would you agree?

       Dear Chuck;
Thank you for joining the forum. You are more than welcome here
but there is a certain 'tone' to it, as with any forum.
I am only interested in a one on one conversation about what you
are doing and experiencing. My goal is to assist you and, while
I knew Werner quite well, I am not interested in passing comment
or judgment on his work. It's about you and only you. If that
fits with your desires, please share what you are doing and
experiencing plus any questions you might have.
There are zillions of teachers and most are selling rubbish. I
am simply too busy to pick, chose and tear them apart. What's
happening in your world? It's the only place you have any chance
of knowing, and there is nothing more interesting.
       Love ya, Jed.

       Got it. Thank you.
       Me:
First felt a longing for truth at 17 in my freshman year of
college. Involvement in a religious group eventually
transitioned into post college life: busy with work, home and
family. Remained in the corporate world for 20+ years with
growing discontentment. Finally escaped / was ejected in 2012.
Spent a year looking for “life purpose” with the conclusion:
there is no purpose. Queue 6 months depression and lethargy.
I was exposed to the no-self concept was last year through a
first person written account of a journey. Bumped around in the
dark as I consumed more on the subject. Somehow it all led to
reading the Enlightenment Trilogy earlier this month, and me
       here now.
Kids are out of the house, marriage is over, and I don't need to
work a normal job. I've been journaling truth for 2 years – but
effort is more focused now I understand SA.
The “Who am I” inquiry also seems helpful; arising thoughts and
emotions dissipate upon the examination “Who is it that feels /
       thinks that way?”
I have no interest in HA as a final state. I have a second
chance in my life for TR. There is nothing else. My life clock
is ticking; I want to focus and accelerate the process.
Distractions are a challenge. I gave away my TV; now thinking to
delete Facebook. I'd move elsewhere if it would help (not sure).
       Thanks and love.
       Chuck

Sounds to me like you are ready for the Navigation Series. If
you want on the waiting list, please send an email to

       Done! Gracias.
I'm laughing tonight. The phrase "Release the tiller" from your
books had a totally different meaning to me until now. Oh, I got
the concept of letting go, but a "tiller" from my background is
a roto-tiller -- a gas powered machine with large tines to break
up topsoil as a precursor to planting seeds.
Letting go of a lever attached to a boat rudder is a helluva
more elegant mind picture than turning loose a rampaging machine
       throwing dirt everywhere :D
