       Jed rant, consistency and Maya/ego
   DIR By: Jed McKenna
       Date: January 19, 2015, 12:16 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Dear members:
I have discussed this matter a few time on the previous forum
but a friend suggested I discuss it here for a moment. It's all
about consistency, of which I have very little and display even
       less.
Who invented words? You didn't, I didn't, the 'system' did,
i.e., Maya/ego. When we use words we divide the world up into
this and not that. 'I'll have coffee please' also means I don't
want tea, beer, whiskey or a lassi, thank you. If our world
wasn't divided it would disappear (hmmm...). Language has
contributed immensely to the human experience, include the fact
that we seem to have survived... so far. Nothing with an upside
doesn't come with a downside, except, in my experience, full
       T/R, but I digress.
Numerous times on the other forum, which had just a few
vitriolic members, I would be challenged with something like,
'Back in blah, blah, you said blah blah now you say blah blah.'
I intentionally didn't respond most of the time. If they were
sincere inquiries seeking an explanation I would respond as best
I could, but they were mostly very obvious Maya/ego enticements
to argue a point. I'm a mini-expert on Sun Tzu Art of War and
there was no way I would be boxed into taking a position per
       their dictates. Just my style.
But this whole communication and word thing is really the
challenge and consistency is what Maya/ego demands, Truth
       demands naught.
If Maya/ego can keep you consistent and logical she can keep you
in mind, no chance of Truth shining in. Don't schools,
institutions, parents and the like want you to be oh-so
reasonable, sensible, consistent and logical? Of course they do,
they are all in deep trances and want you to join. Members of
this forum exhibit different qualities, thank heavens.
Have you ever looked deeply into the eyes of someone who has
been an accountant for 20 or so years? I not saying that
accountants are bad, they just aren't the sharpest spiritual
seekers in the world... but hell, that's just my observation and
       a huge generalization.
If there is reincarnation... which is something that I'm only
partially convinced of, but that's not important... IF it
exists, the I that is You comes back here for one reason only,
IMHO, and that is for novelty or surprise. This may have been
the novelty that Terrence Mckenna was spoke of. What does a
child love, surprises! It's fundamental to our joy of
       experiencing here.
Consistency is the opposite of surprises, it's safe, it's
secure, it's highly insured, but it's also about as real as
       ObamaCare.
Ralph Emerson sized it up well when he said, 'A foolish
consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little
statesmen and philosophers and divines.' I suggest to you that
any time you start feeling safe and secure you have stopped
learning and growing. It's a good idea to continually look
around you for something that is changing. This is not about
being afraid of threats, it's about seeking out that little
change that is never stopping. You will experience more surprise
and feel more alive by doing this.
Blast right out and become God... what do you do next? You
probably haven't considered this, but you will come back for the
joy of novelty and surprise. This is why you see apparent
inconsistencies in gurus who smoke, or drink or die of cancer,
or perhaps lech, etc., (Caveat: I am talking about actual T/R
       gurus).
There is much to be contemplated here.
Love ya, (for the moment) Jed.
P.S. If you are curious about me, I don't smoke, don't lech,
drink a little, have been known to dance until the sun comes up
(I kid you not) and will probably die of a broken heart some
day, in the unlikely event that I actually do die. But, any of
the about could change in a moment, who knows ??? ??? ??? ::)
P.P.S. Just about the only consistency in my world at the moment
is my love for you and admiration for your courageous sharing.

Thanks Jed. That feels like whole lot of room to move, for me.
Within my little cell, I've been known for unpredictability,
inconsistency, changing tack et al. It's just shuffling the
deck chairs, but at least keeps me, and others, on our toes.
Maybe I'll start rattling those jail bars, make a bit of noise
again for a while. Get me some energy flowing..... and watch
       for the changes.
Thanks for your inconsistencies. I love 'em. And you. xx

       Nice post.
I'm going to Spain for a little holiday and my spanish is pretty
much nonexistent. Might be for the better. Improve other ways of
       communication.
Also beautiful short video on novelty:

Ah yes, Cannonball. Thanks for the vid. It's the newness and
novelty in ourselves that excites - that's been my experience.
Even when we witness it in others it reverberates in the self.
       Enjoy your holiday.

"I suggest to you that any time you start feeling safe and
secure you have stopped learning and growing." --> Yes I like!
comes very in handy right now. Confirmed what I was thinking :)

       Re: being God...
Recently I was pondering the question "Why something instead of
nothing?", so I asked God. Answer: "Because I can."

We just try not to get the world too excited by not jumping into
its little box of labels. When consistency and inconsistency are
one in the same, who can have a preference.
Who can free fall without flailing.
       Nice rant jedster.

       But Jed...
Wait a sec. The further this goes, the less relevant (or
something like that) "consistency" and "novelty" are seeming to
me. It's almost like I can just shift my own lens (like those
big ol weird cool lens machines eye doctors have, when they say
"which is better, this [click]?--or this [click]?), and I will
see something either way--as part of "consistency" or a
"novelty." AND furthermore, it seems like sometimes something
in me prefers the one lens view, and sometimes something in me
       prefers the other.
So are you just saying you prefer, and you think most other
folks, prefer (maybe even crave) the "novelty" experience/lens?
If not, please clarify, if you can....
       Thank you!
