Let me ask you a question, do you see thing, qualities, traits,
in others that they don't see? How can this be, don't you know
you? Fact is, you know one a few facets of you. Want to learn
more, look around and stop talking about yourself, ask about
yourself, and then STFU and listen.
Jed's twelve step program to eliminate Jed and all twelve step
programs.
Love ya, Jed.

Ha! When you look in the mirror, please look at your own
reflection :P

Jed,
Very poignant reply.
Makes sense to gather external view points for a complete view.
I'm on it ;D

Without more detail to go on, it looks similar in species to
what they call a "360 review" in business management and HR
circles: where you're asked to appraise your performance at
work, while the people who interface with you are also asked
about how you're doing: strengths, weaknesses, the like.
In civilian terms however, it seems like a tool for helping to
paint a self-portrait.
The question it begs in our context is: why? What is the
spiritual function of walking through the The Six Blind Sages
and The Elephant exercise...on what's like a first step of the
spiritual pathway: seeing through the illusion that there even
is a self?

There is no complete point of view. Just points of view, all
completely empty.
You know yourself vicariously through others. All illusion.
The show must go on though.

When I want to find out what others think of me, I just look to
see what I'm experiencing with others. If you ask them, its hard
for them to be honest to your face because they don't understand
why they feel as they do. Plus they don't want to run the risk
of being wrong or sounding like a hypocrite. Your flaws is their
flaws and they know it - kinda like "it takes one to know one".
I can go down the list with everyone that's in my life: E.g.: If
I experience my mother as kind and loving, then I'm kind and
loving to her; similarly, if I experience my coworker as
arrogant and rude, then I'm arrogant and rude to my coworker.
I'm being what I experience and vice versa.
Anyway, it's subtle and can be easily dismissed as personality
traits or flaws, but when I question my motives, I can see it's
me pulling the strings.
So, maybe we can measure our selves by measuring our
experiences, our environment, our pain, joy, etc.?

This is by no means an absolute measure as that would be pretty
much impossible. But it did cause you to reflect a little which
is part of my goal, a secret goal.
Love ya, Jed.
