Why is Jed drawn to Conspiracy Theories? A student addresses and
reveals something...
By: Jed McKenna Date: April 27, 2020, 7:15 am
---------------------------------------------------------
My answer if pretty simple, I don't know... no idea... but a
valued friend and student who has spend considerable time with
me, submitted the following. Being as he has watched me as a
kind of distanced third party, perhaps he knows this dream
character pretty well. I am sharing it below and your comments
are always welcome. If you wish to address them to the student,
post them as such. Love and best wishes.
Why I Think Jed Likes Conspiracy Theories
I’ve never found conspiracy theories very interesting. They
always seem pretty far fetched to me.
Most of them require you to believe that large numbers of people
across industries are collaborating to fool us. This is hard to
swallow for two reasons. First, you can’t get people to
collaborate on even simple things without real motivation, and
the only motivation here seems to be to pull the wool over
people’s eyes. Sure, there’s often profit for some parties being
posited, but not for the countless low-paid workers who would
have to be in on the scams. Second, if so many people were
collaboratively lying about anything, there would be countless
information leaks. The truth would quickly come to light.
I also have a particular distaste for pseudo-science. So many
conspiracy theories require belief in some superficially
scientific explanation that’s easy to poke holes in, for anyone
who knows the actual science.
As a result, conspiracy theories always appear silly to me, as
do many of the people who are obsessed with them. I believe
there’s more going on than we realize, but the guesses people
make about the real truth seem less interesting to me than the
obvious interpretation, not more interesting.
Why, then, is someone like Jed so into conspiracy theories? Why
is he so enamored that he sees fit to sprinkle them all over our
inboxes, despite their apparent divergence from the mission of
this forum? Appropriate to the topic at hand, I have a theory
about it!
Truth realization (or awakening, or enlightenment, or whatever
you want to call it), looks quite different on different people.
Some, for instance, are mainly in it for the non-duality. It’s
the shedding of the separate self illusion that characterizes
the truth they’ve realized. Jed digs non-duality, but he takes
it further. As anyone who’s been a part of his Navigator Series
knows, the contemplations there all aim toward a recognition
that we’re making this whole thing up. In particular, that we’re
imagining importance and significance and meaning that isn’t
really there. Waking up, for him, means recognizing the
dream-like nature of the things that seem most real. It means
exposing our active role in constructing a pseudo-reality that
cloaks the truth.
If you knew, like Jed does, that absolutely nothing is what it
seems to be, if you fully grasped the implications, you might
delight in anything that calls our so-called reality into
question. You might want to give the people around you a peek
behind the curtain, to expose the falsehoods they’ve been taken
in by. That might be great fun to do, and conspiracy theories
are particularly useful for this purpose!
Conspiracy theories ask you to deepen your skepticism, to
question every level of authority, to look for anomalies, to
seek the patterns that are waiting for you to notice them, if
only you can break your normal habits of attention and belief.
It doesn’t matter at all if the conspiracy theories are
accurate. Personally, I’m convinced that they’re all nonsense.
What matters is that they push you to question the reality
you’ve been fed by schools, the media, and other institutions of
knowledge propagation. Something funny really is going on behind
the scenes. Things really are not as they seem. Power dynamics
really ate at play shaping our socially sanctioned beliefs. We
really have been brainwashed!
So what’s the real truth of the matter? Is all of this really a
dream? Are we in a computer simulation? Have we been tricked by
the deceptions of a Cartesian demon? Are we ourselves the
authors of the fictions we’ve mistaken for reality? I don’t know
the answer, but I know if I were Jed, I might find kinship with
anyone who thinks it’s all up for grabs. I might enjoy playing
along with any (or every) crazy, disruptive narrative out there.
I might want to encourage seekers after truth to challenge
widespread assumptions, and to get weirder, more eccentric, more
counter-intuitive about how they go about it.
Remember, as Jed is fond of saying, that “truth realization is
untruth unrealization”. You might think conspiracy theories are
as fun as Jed does, or you might, like me, find them tedious.
Regardless, I suspect you can find the spirit of irreverence
underlying them, and the drive to uncover the truth beneath our
most durable illusions.

Yes, thank you.
I did notice Jed seemed very much delighted with the links,
youtubes and such. Like a child getting super cool new toys.
And he did say this is all about being curious and nothing else.
As to me, well I did view some youtubes and read the articles
and such. It has been an education as they say. There's
something in America that seems to grow persons like Farrel or
Icke (well he's english) or Cooper, van Dyk etc. Than there's
Jed of course.
You write: 'things really are not as they seem'. You mean that
both ways? Like this is a dream (to me it seems like a comic
book) and there are indeed things happening behind the scenes ?

For the herd-bound who still has some faith left in the
establishment, anything that threatens their sleep is dismissed
as conspiracy theory.
But after you wake up you gradually find the human society
(culture, science, economy, industry etc.) more and more
strange, insane and of course unstable constructs, always at the
edge of falling apart totally. Like blinds walking on tight
ropes. you would see humans always at the edge of blowing
themselves up. and there you start to look for alternative
explanations for what and how things are actually are, and those
alternative explanations are naturally deemed as impossible
conspiracy theories by the herd-bound.

For the herd-bound (just another Herd-bound conspiracy ;D ;D
;D) who still has some faith left in the establishment,
(Obviously a conspiracy :o :o :o) anything that threatens their
sleep is dismissed as conspiracy theory. But after you wake up
(Wake up, ??? ??? ??? sounds like a new age conspiracy) you
gradually find the human society culture, science, economy,
industry etc. (nice collection of conspiracies dude :P :P :P)
more and more strange, insane and of course unstable constructs,
(Yeh sure, another 'unstable constructs' theory ??? ??? ???)
always at the edge of falling apart totally. (finally we can
agree on something :-* :-* :-*) Like blinds walking on tight
ropes. (tight ropes, trust the conspiracy guys and gals,
typically ignoring those slack line workers) If you would see
humans (sure, humans, my God, do you know how crazy you sound)
always at the edge of blowing themselves up. (Who is blowing
what up whose you-know-what 8) 8) 8)) and there you start to
look for alternative explanations (alternative explanation, WTF
are you on about now) for what and how things are actually are,
and those alternative explanations (Yeh, yeh, yeh ::) ::) ::)
are naturally deemed as impossible conspiracy theories by the
herd-bound. (O.K. I give up, I just can't reason with you)
Next thing you will be saying is that I am not a good listener
... sheesh, I am outta here.
Old Jed.

The term conspiracy theorie is much too undifferenciated to even
talk about it without saying about WHAT you actually talk about.
The conspiracy theorie from 20 years ago is the common knowledge
of today regarding for example the fact that the FED is a
PRIVATE bank and that the state lends its money from private
people and pays them interest.
The biggest conspiracy in my eyes is no theorie at all: look at
the state of the world, the system we live in.
Everything is against us: education system teaches us how NOT to
think, "healthcare" system ruins our health,
media dictates what to believe, government is owned by lobbyists
and on it goes.
This is not really a conspiracy theorie but almost nobody can
see it. And even fewer can see that it's on purpose.
That's the way the system is supposed to function.
Too bad for me that I can't find it funny at the moment. I'm
alone with this view in my social environment.
For me it's obvious that this "pandemic" is scripted. This is a
conspiracy rolling out in front of our eyes.
In Germany we have to wear masks in the supermarket and in
public transportation.
The figures show it's not more letal than influenza. People who
say this are banned on YT and called psychotics.
When we take David Icke: He explains the world pretty acurately
when it comes to "the system". Where's the conspiracy theorie?
Open your eyes and you can see it.
Don't know about reptiloids but even that is a possibility...
who knows?
At the moment I hate this world and these people who believe
everything they are told to believe.
And I'm not even awake!
I'm stuck in myself but I can see in society nothing is as it
seems to be.
I hope I'm only having a bad dream and soon will wake up.
To be honest: It would be enough for me to switch to a better
dream.
But I tried to dream a better dream and it only gets worse ::)

I think that not only conspiration is possible, but also that it
is the only thing going on in this illusion-world. Heck, even
animals and inanimate objects are conspiring in some way... So
human beings are in no way excluded from the entire conspiratory
bandwagon.
Yes, the government is fooling us
Charities are fooling us
The media is fooling us
School, parents, and religion are also fooling us
Even our sensory data is conspiring against us, desperately
trying to make us believe in some made-up story
In reality we are all fooling ourselves
Anyways... My opinion is that the great powers of this world are
really brutal, they steal the resources that should belong to
all and put it into the possession of a small elite. And then
they even fool the honest workers into thinking they are
"working for a good cause" so that they will continue working
for them.
Also, who knows what the heck happens in those military
facilities labs... I wouldnt doubt... No, actually im pretty
sure even human experimentation is going on on these facilities.
So many children disappear and we never hear of them again...
This could very well be the work of governments

Hahahah Jed I was thinking I'm sounding smart until you came :D
[quote]Wake up, ??? ??? ??? sounds like a new age

That's true, enlightenment is indeed only a conspiracy theory,
they have made our rightful and natural state look like fancy
and glorified state that only a few gifted individuals can
access.

Yes ofc there is no one here, I was talking about the
appearances only

Hi Marco:
Thank you for sharing that. Honest and straight up.
Many years ago I heard an interview on the radio (remember ???
??? ??? a thing call 'radio') and he was talking about religious
'fundamentalists'. When asked what he meant by 'fundamentalist',
I thought his definition was very good, stuck in my head for
more than thirty years. A fundamentalist is a person, or a
group, who has lost their sense of humor, they can no longer
laugh at themselves. I think we can apply that to many, many
people and groups today.
After all, if you can't laugh at yourself.... I think you are in
very big trouble. Could this world be one big joke?
Love ya and take care,
Jed

Ha ha, that ALMOST made me laugh.
Considering myself a fundamentalist is quite a change in
perspective.
I'm sure this insight will be suppressed quickly.
Thank you for that.
I feel seen ;)
