New to Forum (I think)

Thank you.
I was born into a devout Catholic family of 9; it was a madhouse
:o, so when I turned 20 I moved from my small hometown to a big
city. I was a young woman, by myself and so I met and hooked up
with a fundamentalist Christian group. I studied the bible day
and night, spoke in tongues :P, and had a would-be husband
already picked out for me. When they informed me that that my
family was “evil” I got really pissed off, they excommunicated
me from the group and I returned home.
I began weekly meetings with a 70 year old nun and she called me
a Mystic, I wasn’t sure what that meant (I still don’t really
know); however, she assured me that I was not going to hell. She
told me about Eastern religion and encouraged me to go
“further”.
Shortly after that, ironically enough, I still end up marrying a
fundamentalist Christian, we had a child (and stepchildren) and
divorced 4 years later. I moved again to another big city, this
time I met and married an agnostic, he despised religion and the
status quo – I married him right away!
I don’t have a large repertoire of readings but when I find
something that pushes my buttons and causes me to sit up
straight, I read and re-read several times: God Calling (by a
couple of nuns), Conversation with God Books 1-3 (N.Walsh), The
Book of Secret (D.Chopra), Loving What Is & Question Your
Thinking (B.Katie). I have read your books the Darnest and
Incorrect but unsure if I will re-read.
I’ve studied and practice hypnosis, meditation (TM), and being a
kind (non)person.
--My question to the Universe: Am I watching the moon or is the
moon watching me?
--My question for you (if you don’t mind): Is being awake,
overrated, compared to being in the dream state, I mean can you
teeter?

Dear WM:
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum.
Are you in this scene or is the scene in you, sorry, only you
can answer that. It's experience that really counts, not
spewings from others. Look and see, and answer your question by
yourself.
Your second question is only answerable by a ridiculous
response. If you don't know it, it's overrated, if you do, you
won't ever want to go back.
Most people try to arrive at it by the highways of their mind,
which are all dead ends.
Love ya, Jed.

The moon doesn’t exist nor do I.
My mind says, “Oh my, you’re mistaken, you do exist and the moon
awaits your gaze.”
My experience says, “Get real or die trying.”

I'm in...

After reading your rants... I'm in, seriously. I get distracted
when I read everyone's post because there is some really good
stuff there, but I notice I'm all over the place. Actually,
that's not true, I've been all over the place before coming
here.
Zen Koan: “The monkey grabs at the reflection of the moon.”
Question to I: Does the object go to the eye or the eye to the
object?
Answer from I: I have no clue! Given the understanding that I
have no free will and it's all being done to me and for me, then
what’s the point of the question? What’s the point of my
existence?

What a day...I was just confronted by someone at work over some
BS and now I’m pissed off, or so I think I am. My body is
stressed and there is tension in my neck and back, I can hear my
heart beating. I’m feeling sad and my mind is running with all
sort of negative thoughts.
Wow this is a trip…
I’m realizing that I haven’t felt this way in quite some time (I
used to live with this feeling almost daily). Now I can see
that I’ve been just humming along with little emotions and this
dude walks in and ruffled my feathers!
I’m mixed on what to do/feel/think next: there is a part of me
that wants to slam his fingers in a door, and there is another
part of me that is cracking up at me, and saying, “Sucka!”
Where is that moon when I need it?

Question:
As I begin to realize and experience that I have no free will
and that whatever is keeping me alive with a roof over my head,
fed, clothed and loved is ultimately in control.
So my question is: why bother awakening when “It”
will wakeme when/if it’s ready?
So, do I really have a say in the matter or am I just toying
with myself?
