Hi Jed, it's been a while since the last reply on this topic.
But I got a message that moves me and that fits here so I like
       to share.
I don't know if it is an original thought but definitely it's
something very new that captured me by reading the "Jed
       talks"-books some time ago.
       1st thought: Comfortable compulsion.
       2nd thought: Wistful gratitude.
Who has ever heard this before?
For me the interesting thing is that these thoughts cannot be
       understood intellectually.
But it's grand to me, it's like an Aha-effect.
       All the best

I can't come up with an original thought, so what is the point
       of me?
That's an ego-crushing, depressing thought but that seems to be
       the point of this contemplation.

i´m not sure how the word "great" is meant in this case ;).
Sometimes i just have to find a way to express my enthusiasm or
whatever and i enjoy your clear concise words.
Original thought? Similar to original sin? Maybe someday God was
screaming out loud: "It's too fucking boring. I need some
       entertainment." :)
Funny to imagine, but sounds like a personal God is existing and
that time is a true thing.
The only true origin is awareness full of thoughts appearing. Is
there an initial thought in the appearance, an Adam & Eve
thought setting things (thoughts) in motion?
Pattern i would say. But what does that mean?
I see some kind of Sisyphus story repeating again and again in
infinite different ways. But with an happy ending T/R (and after
the play is before the play, never ending, never really
       happening).
       Namaste!

Ever seen a vision not based on something previously
       experienced/perceived/encountered?
Under some specific conditions that's been experienced by this
       non-I.
There are reports by others who describe their visions as
"complex machinery". Of course the visions must be at least
related to other experience. For example the visions include
color and form. Beyond this what is observed on such occasions
seems unrelated to anything ever encountered.
Then there was an experience in which the forest was revealed as
arranged as fractal and it was then evident that the human brain
employs some sort of stitching algorithm to provide the
       impression of chaos.
These were experiences, not thoughts; which are also experiences
so far as this one can tell.

I the stitching algorithm turning chaos into order, order into
chaos or the indigestible illusion into wheat-a-bix.

Yeah, it is easy to fall into the trap of "this is how things
are". So its a welcome reminder not to settle on something like
"this percieved reality is truly fractal in nature and one
purpose of the human brain is to stitch the fractal giving it
the appearance of continuity and randomness".
Nonetheless, that experience was astonishing and the ideas about
the human brain interacting with fractal information is
       interesting.
The visions of what some have termed "complex machinery" (but
which I'd describe as some dynamic fierceness of motion and form
and color) are what are directly related to this thread, though.
The fractal stuff was an encounter and encounters are not seen
as unusual if new information is present.
A vision seems like it would originate in the mind and would be
comprised of elements which the mind has previous experience
with. These visions did not seem to be thrown together from
anything previously experienced. It is partly due to that, that
they were so surprising. They were astonishing in complexity,
color and in their dynamic behavior (there was no sound) yet
most astonishing is that there seemed to be little relating them
       to previous experience.
These visions struck me in the same way as when I've been
smitten by some unexpected view of nature-like emerging from a
clearing and suddenly there's a waterfall plunging into a rocky
chasm. There was also at times a "cuteness" about it the visions
which had me softly saying to myself "awe" as I would when a
puppy is plopped into my lap.
Rather than saying it was in the mind it seems more that it was
in the mind's eye. In-out, here, there, I don't know. But it was
"original" which is the subject of this thread.

Sounds like a 'Dog Making Tracks' experience... for those in the
       know.
       Much love, Jed.
P.S. If you have to ask you haven't been there.
