Coming up with an original thought... ever done it?

Dear Memeber:
Here's a twist on writing something that's 'true'. Try coming up
with and writing out an original thought. Perhaps I should
define 'original' so we are singing from the same hymn book;
Original thought: a thought that is not a repeat of any prior
thought and not a regurgitation of a memory and not a repeat of
what someone or some media has told you. It must meet all of
those three conditions to pass my 'test'.
I will expand on this as members post their experiences. A
suggestion, don't discount it out-of-hand... you must actually
do the contemplation to have it be of any use or value to you.
I don't agree with everything in the following quote.... it is
well thought out... but hardly original:
“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with
inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new
films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams,
random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs,
trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only
things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do
this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is
invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother
concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In
any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not
where you take things from - it’s where you take them to."
[MovieMaker Magazine #53 - Winter, January 22, 2004 ]”
I suggest you don't think your way to 'your' conclusion...
better to ponder your way. While you are at it, find out if it
really is 'your' conclusion.
Much love and stay healthy.
Jed.

I would say its more original to come up with an unoriginal
thought. Just go into the absurd or the false or the untrue.
Much easier than coming up with something true.... Hows that for
originality? :P

Yes, open to much poetic licence.
Stay well.
Love ya, Jed.

Ahh again Jed pops into my realm with a stirring that needs no
spoon. Thank you for the invite
I sense a curious, spontaneous and creative urge.
Its playfulness is pure in its wildness of heart. It knows that
touch comes from hearing, seeing and experience.
The sensual nature of this innocence takes nothing yet leaves an
open invitation to involve rather than revolve.
This is it in verse:
Impulses left freely to ignite the quiet
Gently bringing the warm awareness
Expressing joyously the freedom of the moment
Spontaneous bursts of brilliance, one offs
Joining endlessly to create one glorious now
Ever expanding
Always exceeding never better never worse
Only Diverse
Verses interwoven to bring
the conscious song into being
At a Glance from a Distance
An Infinite Moment in Glory

Well here’s my utterly unoriginal but authentic “theft” from Mr
Watts today..
“Faith (...) is an unreserved opening of the mind to the truth,
whatever it may turn out to be. Faith has no preconceptions; it
is a plunge into the unknown. Belief clings, but faith lets go.”

"Not two" is THE original thought. All thought after that --
every letter, every sentence, every paragraph -- is unoriginal
and derivative. "I am" is another way of putting it.
Admittedly, I did not coin these terms, but any rephrasing would
be not be original, either.

Penguins eat fabric and poop easter eggs.
That is what popped into my head. I bet it's original. I didn't
find where you said the thought had to be enlightenmenty, so...
it's not. I just wanted to play.
