Turning enlightenment down

Does anyone else struggle with this dilemma - you search long
and hard for enlightenment/awakening but then when the
opportunity finally shows up you become extremely scared and say
no because the truth is too beautiful and too extreme to take
in?
I've experienced this two times the past 4 months now and it's
so frustrating because after having said no and gone back to the
dream I start to long for it again, only to hide once it
reappears. Feels like a really bad loop. Although I guess this
is just as it should be, and that I will take the leap once I'm
ready.
Anyway just wanted to reach out and see if there's anyone else
struggling with this.

Hi Robin:
Thanks for your post and question. It's very common to have Maya
step in and say ''whoa!'' and, of course, she uses the mechanism
of fear.
Be patient and understanding, It is a little like heroin, (never
had it, but imagine what it might be like).... you won't be able
to let it go. It will return to you on it's own good time,
because now YOU ARE HOOKED :o :o :o :o Continuing with my weird
metaphor, you are the addict, you are the pusher, and you are
the opium grower.... and then there is the police... guess who
that is? Be strong and patient. BTW, do you have my full body
breathing tape. It's free, just write me at
cambodianashram@gmail.com. I will also include a chi kung tape
that is helpful in quieting things down and increasing focus.
All that's left is to enjoy the ride.
Love ya, Jed.

Hey Jed, in one of your books you're saying that T/R is probably
something no one would want but that Human Adulthood is
something worth aiming for and where all the goodies is.
But is it really possible to enter human adulthood without first
waking up to Truth and "the cold lonely rock"?

T/R can happen any time and it can be smooth as silk or feel
like rubbing your face on an old gravel road.
Become an adult first and things will go easier for you and
those around you. The other way around and... it's a crap shoot.
Love ya, Jed.

And what can I do to move towards adulthood? I've read your
books but do you have a post in here or something where you
explain more deeply what it's about?
