Who is the perceiver? Who is it that can wake up and realize
that it's all just perceiving a dream?
True nature, of course. What else?
Is it an object?
Not possible, it can only be the invisible nature in which
everything (all objects) appears as if it would really exist .
True nature must be a kind of intelligent force able to imagine
whatever can be imagined. I am talking about the one and only
real ME.
And it works timeless, no-one is deciding what to happen.
So who or what is writing this? A human being?
And the most interesting question: What is the benefit to
realize what this video shows?
Entertainment is the benefit.
It seems there is one basic need of true nature: Get well
entertained.

Yup... that sums it up quite well... minimum requirement,
entertainment.

@Parsley
Excuse me, but how can true nature have a basic need? Isnt it
the opposite? The ego could only have something like a basic
need.. right? Define entertainment then??
@Jed
I am under the impression that all entertainment has become
totally unimpactfull. I still feel stuckness though and I don't
know how to see through that stuckness.. I really don't like it.
I want to fight it, but as I also try to give up that fight
nothing really changes. Its the only thing (not so entertaining)
thats keeping me busy these days. I want to go further. Any
advice on that Jed?

Stop taking yourself so seriously.
If you are asking Parsley, please refrain from asking other
members about anything. Share what you want about yourself only.
Cross-talk is very unproductive and takes one of the subject of
their own experience. What you are experiencing is your doorway
to your True Nature.
Define entertainment... sure... it's what you are experiencing
right now... whatever that might be. Good, bad, indifferent, it
doesn't matter, it's entertainment. Stuck is just another story.
You only ''think'' you are stuck and that is certainly enough to
create the impression you are stuck. Simply inquire, ''who feels
stuck'' and when you get an answer, ask ''to whom is that answer
arising'' and keep repeating that last statement to everything
you experience. Simple, but not always easy. Requires some
discipline and focus.
Love ya, Jed.

That "so what is that supposed to be important" is awesome. It's
useful all the time, thanks

Re: Perception, Reality, Illusion: a video

I've been spending some time thinking about what is being
presented in this video. When our eyes see an object, an image
of the object appears at the back of the retinas, distorted,
upside down, it then gets distorted further and appears right
side up in the back of the brain.
That object that I think appears in front of me actually only
exists in my mind, specifically at the back of the head. I think
that I am seeing the world but how do I know there is any world
out there? All I am seeing is a projection which has been
distorted by the senses.
What if literally there was no world? How would I know if I only
ever see an image in the back of my head. How could I verify
that what is seen at the back of the head, actually exists?
In 1945 the Nazis could have won the war, ensalved the world but
convinced the them that they had actually won by projecting an
images directly into their brains. Human beings ensalved for
decades, generations being bred believing they were free, when
all that was happening were images being artificially put in
their brains.
If humans can only see an image in the back of their head, then
there is no way anyone can verifiy that any of it is actually
happening. All we can do is confirm each other's delusions but
even then how can we be sure there is any other person out
there? The Matrix movie storyline of the world being destroyed
in the past may not just be sci-fi. :o
Human beings do not possess any physcial capability of actually
perceiving anything outside of the body. Its not just the eyes
but the other four senses in which the world only appears in the
senses/mind. I have to say that all this is freaking me out just
a little.

Sometimes....hmmm..what are you pointing to?
I said that humans don't possess the physical capability to
perceive anything outside of the body. You're saying they do. I
am talking about body/mind/senses and you are pointing to the
Awareness/Witness of the body/mind/senses.
This leads me to something I have been contemplating about the
location of Me as the Witness in relation to the location to the
mind.
In this Vedanta teaching (specifically just a few minutes
beginning at 24:00), he enquires into the location of the pen.
It appears in the mind as a thought and there is no
gap/separation between pen and mind. Pen and mind are one. (this
is my experience)
Next step, how far is my mind from Me. Is there a gap? He says
No, my mind is Me. (not sure this is my experience)
He says that your mind is you as an experiencing
entity/instrument. (logically I understand, not sure
experientially)
He concludes if there is no separation between my mind and the
object and there is no separation between me and my mind, then
there cannot be a separation between the object and me. Which is
non-duality.
So I am experiencing separation between Me and my mind. I never
used to. Pre-spiritual journey, it was only me. I then
objectified the mind and became the witness of it telling
myself, I am not mind/body. In doing that, I have created a
belief that the Witness and the mind are separate.
That separation is now in the way. How to close the gap? OMG,
I've heard that teaching before - close the gap. Is that what it
means.
Contemplation - where is the mind in relation to the Witness? To
the left, right, top, bottom, front, back or within. My belief
is telling me in front but logic is telling me it appears within
the Witness. This is your contemplation about am I appearing
within the scene or is the scene appearing in me. As my
understanding of it is becoming more subtle, I' think I should
revisit it, with that new insight.
