Seeing through, rather than negation

Question for you Jed. What do you think of this whole seeing
*through* things (through illusion) versus trying to negate the
thing which causes the 'ornaments." (the illusionary
thought/self, so negating the illusion it then produces as
well.)
It seems to me both of these lead to truth, its just the path
taken that changes the outcome. No? I've greatly valued your
direct and no BS take on things quite a bit. It has a certain
certainty to it which is helpful. But also, for my own part, I
know I'm really following my own path, so I can only take your
given/offered/shared certainty so far. Do you have a take on
the following quote? Your own way of things seems more to me
like his previous mention. I've been there momentarily, and it
wasn't what I was looking for (or, really it was, but just not
ultimately, only as the answer I needed to get past where I was
at in that moment. I needed the truth of "nothing" to know what
it was, so I could drop an entire section of "not knowing" or
"wrong thought" from my lexicon that I simply wouldn't have been
able to without the experience of it. But I wasn't intending to
stay there, really, in that state of nothing, because I still
wanted to live the rest of my human life, and it seemed like a
basic impossibility (or, at least, an amount of difficulty I no
longer had the will to keep up a pretense of maintaining.) So I
ended up coming back out of it, but now with the experience of
it in consciousness to re-write everything previously "known."
His second version, seeing through, sounds like what I was
looking for all along. Having a self that is in full alignment
to truth, whether it itself is True or not, and/or only made
true via it's alignment/embodiment of truth itself. (at which
point, I don't see them being separate things, truth and self,
except in my own current thoughts.) Do you see yourself as
abiding in one of those ways he mentions versus the other? (Or,
however you want to interpret that question disregarding the
part where you remind me there is no "You" to be there to
interpret the question as such.)
Quote:
If you try to take away your mind from the ornament (as yogins
do), the ornament disappears not by itself alone, but along with
the gold; and you are left helpless, in the dark. But if you
succeed in seeing the gold in the ornament and understand that
the gold is the only part which is permanent, then in every
subsequent perception of the ornament, you will emphasize only
the gold in it.
Similarly, when you see you are not the body, senses or mind -
which are but ornaments of the real 'I' - you have only to
emphasize the 'I' in each. It is only a shifting of your
interest, from the appearance to the essence, that is needed.
Then, everything appears as gold or the real 'I'.
Pure gold comprehends all ornaments. It is formless,
imperceptible and is by itself no ornament. The ornament is gold
in some form, and is perceptible. When you put an ornament in a
crucible and apply heat to it, it melts. Then the ornament part
disappears and the gold alone remains over. Of course, this gold
also appears in the form of the crucible. You cannot help this
as long as you look through your eyes. Pure gold is formless and
imperceptible. Having transcended objectivity, it is the Reality
itself.
But there is, in daily practice, a temporary and artificial
reality posited between the ornament and the gold. This is what
we call the bullion. It is supposed to be more permanent than
the ornaments and is therefore used as a standard to measure all
ornaments. The bullion has also a form and is an ornament when
coined. This fact is conveniently ignored when you consider the
bullion as standard gold.
Similarly, the state of samadhi, considered by the yogins as the
Ultimate, is only a state, limited by time. The absolute Reality
is beyond all samadhi.

Hi Rog:
Welcome to the forum and thank you for your post. Please note, a
word limit of 200 per post helps me with my workload, imaginary
of course, but a load nonetheless. I found your writing a little
abstract and obtuse. Please share your experiences as simply as
you can, and that one part.
If you have questions, please be specific as possible. I am a
little reluctant to answer questions that start with ''what do
you think of blah, blah.''. They are like a social media gab,
not not on my ''let's have fun list''. I will say that I totally
agree with your last sentence... Similarly, the state of
samadhi, considered by the yogins as the Ultimate, is only a
state, limited by time. The absolute Reality is beyond all
samadhi.
You seem to be in your head and quite analytical. That has a
place in this journey, but minor. The sooner you get out of your
head and into your experience, the sooner you will get out of
your experience and into the experiencer and the sooner you will
look back and laugh at you own silliness in all this seeking.
Seeking is fine, but being is sooo much better, until
disappearing...and then the fun really begins.
Love ya, Jed

I wish you the best always. Write me anytime, and perhaps review
some of the Rants. Not all are mine, I have included some
students as well.
Love ya, Jed.
