       Frits' thread
   DIR By: Frits
       Date: December 15, 2018, 1:31 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Hi Jed,
I decided to check in again. I am pretty much "done", which
means absolutely nothing other than "yeah, I see what is instead
of what is not, good for me... now further."
You said somewhere in these threads that you never really get
rid of ego completely, and that is my experience, too. So (and
please correct me if your experience is different and please let
me know what your experience is), I recognize I am not this
body, these are not my thoughts or feelings, not my emotions and
the story of 'Frits' is nothing more that just that: The Story
Of Frits -- nothing to do with what "I am".
Nevertheless is this body the means through which I experience
this Dreamstate and this body is conditioned within its story in
a specific way through upbringing and society. I believe I am at
a point at which I feel the need to put the story of this body
to the test and examine it, because the trauma it has
experienced in the past is causing physical pain (all within the
       Dreamstate, I know).
So, I am awake and yet I feel the need to understand the story
of the body in order to lessen the physical pain. Am I
       digressing or just curious?
What's your take on this, dear friend. I ask you because you've
been at this longer than I am and beside you I know not that
many people who have been at it longer than me. :D
Hope I kept in under 200, and hope I made my question clear. If
       not, let me know.

       Dear Old Friend:
Good to hear from you and yes, I understand what you are
expressing and, to a degree, what you are experiencing..... but
my perspective on pain is a little different... more like Nis,
but I am in this weird position of being pretty old,
chronologically, but rather immature in other senses, (thank
heaven) but I have no pains in the body, in the mind there is
not much of anything and as for emotions, there is just a kind
of steady pleasant hum... no ups or down, rather ''ordinary''
for lack of a better word.
In order to explain what I am pointing to I will recall a quote
from Nis (recalled from memory). He died of throat cancer and
was in much pain at the end. When a follower asked if he was in
pain, he replied something like, ''Yes, there is great pain
here, but no one to experience it''. He also mentioned something
about his realization taking the 'sting' out of pain. I observe
in others that pain does arise as does pleasure, as does
confusion and understanding, attachment and aversions, etc. and
I observe that this person, i.e., the thing called me, is
certainly capable of making judgements, which I reframe as
discernment for the benefit of those stuck on new age lingo.
All that I point at in the aforementioned are simply experiences
and have a beginning and an end. All that matters, if anything
matters at all, is that which has no beginning and no ending.
While almost everyone who seeks their True Nature is initially
motivated by a desire to reduce their pain/discomfort/past,
etc., eventually the shallowness of that motivation is seen
through. My observation is that you have a deep understanding of
the facets, symptoms, theories, etc. regarding T/R, and yet you
have a way to go in order to drop it down to a deeper
realization, something unexplainable that results in a total
dissolution of every facet of ''I, me, my and mine''. From that
perspective (which is ALL perspectives) what remains gently
returns to the dream and assumes whatever ''I, me, my and mine''
appears appropriate in the moment. That sliver of ego is a
minimal requirement for continued participation in the dream...
and in my experience a simple and practical necessity. The
alternative is you become a 'mast' and essentially leave without
committing suicide, or you do commit suicide. Any of those
alternatives are totally appropriate and acceptable from the
       perspective of Truth.
Now, let's get serious (ah crap, not that!). To seek T/R (full
blown, real, disappearance of the universe, high grade, 100
proof, ultimate solvent, blah, blah, blah...) one must not
expect it to be anything in particular, because it is NOT
anything period... AND... one must not be doing it from the
perspective of wanting or expecting relief from any human
suffering or discomfort. Such may or may not occur but the
reality of the matter is that Truth doesn't give a darn if you
are in pain because you only appear to exist, you are not real.
Truth doesn't give a darn about anything, it's the damnedest
       thing.
You mentioned that past traumatic experiences are causing bodily
pain. Have you collapsed time and space on those events? Can you
remember those events or just have a suspicion they occurred? If
you want me to walk you through how to do that we can Skype. I
can also send you the full body breathing tape if you email me.
Know that I wish you the best always and am here for you if I
can assist in any way.... and BTW, never believe anything that I
or any other teachers tell you. Take anything on with the
attitude what you are just doing so to find out if it is
suitable/works for you. I know you are definitely not one, but
more sheep is not what the dream needs at this non-existent
point in time... and yeh... further.
       Love ya, Jed.

By the way, I meant thank you for the answer, which is more than
enough. I won't be needing a personal Skype session, but thank
       you for the offer. ;D

No question, so no need to read it, I just want to say thank
you. Not specifically to you, Jed, but to the trip. It started
way back somewhere between 1985 and 1990 when something got my
attention and I thought: "why isn't this on the news or in the
newspapers?" — and I started investigating if it was true what
got my attention or if it wasn't, instead of blindly believing
       the mainstream news.
To make a long story very short, that was my autolysis, but I
didn't know this until I read "Damnedest". The three books of
the "Enlightenment Trilogy" were the icing on the cake. I've
gone through David Icke, Nisargadatta, Adyashanti, Tony Parsons,
UG Krishnamurti, Course in Miracles, Paul Hedderman... but it
was the Jed McKenna books that put it all in perspective. If you
are the one who wrote them, kuddo's to you, if not, kuddo's to
       Jed.
And then? Well... further! When the dust settled I was on my own
again! Just as I was when I got started. It's no group-project.
But a few people gave some amazing pointers, and I hope I will
be able to give other seekers some pointers; I really love doing
that. I get ridiculed sometimes, of course, but that's cool.
It's all impersonal, so there's no one here to get offended.
Anyway, for everything and all those amazing people that came on
my path I say, thank you! It's been a hard and painful — but
amazing — journey that took some 30+ years, and in the end "I"
literally got nothing out of it, but it was worth every fvcking
step. But still: FURTHER! Yet, forever grateful.

Yes, it's not a group project, grouping almost always creates
some form of philosophy or religion. Thank you for your
       contribution to neither.
       Love ya, Jed.

Hi Jed/Ken/Whatever your name is, I wrote this under Escapists
thread, but you'll delete that, so I am going to put it here
also... unless you ban me like most people do when I start
telling them sh*t they don't want to hear.
I am very disappointed in your way of dealing with Escapist who
is obviously going through some mental thing that has nothing to
do with enlightenment or waking up. If I know that, you know
that... so why are you not being honest with him?
You made a big mistake not telling this Escapist guy he's not
enlightened. Maybe you want to reel him in for your little
program and get some money out of him, I don't know, but when
you do things like this you have the responsibility to be honest
and at least try to make sure people don't go hurting themselves
       or others.
       Very disappointing.

My job is to point and encourage, not to rate a person's
progress or attainment, he will find out who and where he is in
his own good time. That's not my responsibility. I have learned
an almost infinite patience in this endevour. Besides, he never
asked me. I can't imagine a much more un-enlightened topic than
debating with a person if they are T/R. In my experience and
observations, the fact that anyone would engage in such a debate
is a petty good indicator that they are not, but hey, what do I
       know?
       Love ya, Jed.
