Jed Rant: Is Jed getting a little soft in the heart.

       Dear Members and Lurkers:
I have already written on this subject, but here I go again.
I constantly give to beggars here. Not huge amounts as I think
spreading it around is better than a large sum to any one
person. They are unbelievably grateful and gracious. Giving me
blessings and thank yous that would melt an iceberg.
A strange thing sometimes happens. When I find someone who is
particularly gracious and beautiful (young, old, male, female
have nothing to do with the beauty I speak of, it's all in the
eyes and their expressions of gratitude), I give some money and
when I turn to walk away I feel this strange compulsion to turn
       around and give some more.
Sometimes I have turned back twice or even three times.
Compelled by their eyes and graciousness I reach into my right
pocket when I keep the local currency, grab my wad for the day
and hand it all to them. Sometimes a little voice in my head
says ''Crap... I give up'' as I am overcome by their gratitude.
There is no money, no beggar and not me...but I still needs
       something to play with.
I didn't really learn this lesson, I was taught it by a legless
beggar in Indonesia, tens of years ago. His motive capabilities
where limited to pushing himself around on an 2 feet by 2 feet
piece of plywood on four casters. Something like what you might
move your fridge with. His smile is still fresh in my mind after
forty years. And the strangest thing was most of his teeth where
gold. I wonder where he got the money for them... ??? ??? ???
He radiated and it was not just the sun reflecting off his
       teeth, but that probably contributed.
There is a lesson here for you too ... what is it? Not about
T/R, but about a better dream while you still appear in the
dream of humanness. When you reach T/R (and you will one way or
the other) I won't matter if you give or not, but you will
       probably give a great deal.
       Love ya, Jed.

addicted to gratitude? that's one way of looking at it...
       or
maybe just open to experiencing the happiest of dreams?

So it turned out I returned to Belarus without money. Friends
and relatives helped me. I didn’t ask for anything. They
took the initiative themselves. Money, products. Someone invited
me to visit, and "coincidentally" at this time they had dinner.
I dined in a warm friendly company.
I was very touched. They tried to help me in this way that I
didn't feel that I owed them.
Now I already have an influx of money. Difficult time behind.
But I can't call it difficult. It was a happy time.
I understand you, Jed. I also have such impulses when there is
       an opportunity.
Maybe I'm too frivolous about money and things. But is there
anything here that belongs to me?
Is this a lesson? I call it compassion. Great thing! And where
       else can we experiense it?
Jed, once you said you are a bit obsessed with the truth.
I guess I'm obsessed with the Earth.

Accept whatever is happening, surend and feel gratitude for life
and living no matter how "bad" it could be. Then life itself
will take care of you... and bring you even golden teeth. ;) ;D

Without going into too much mental masturbation,
I have nothing to complain about. Typing from my mac book pro,
in my A/C, in the city of Miami, FL.
       Yet, I still want more.
What I have is not enough.
Not enough unti I get to the top.
Yet, in other countries, thousands upon thousands are suffering
       less than humane conditions.
Just trying to get to the next bite to eat.
In my context, they are the back burner problem that I can do
       nothing about.
Its not their fault that they are screwed. The circumstances
       made it so.
       Not fair.

What top???? If everything is an illusion and there is no top,
then what are you trying to accomplish? Better yet, who is the
one trying to get to the top?
