Far fewer things still get emotional responses from me at this
point. Usually it happens when I have an emotional investment in
the situation already, even as basic as just wanting to finish
up at work on time and leave. Or being crowded and bumped into.
It helps to be aware of what is going on, catch it early, and
choose to unwind before it gets out of control. As long as I am
awake that is easy enough most of the time. Dreaming is another
matter. Almost every night I dream about being at work. Most of
the time my dream work environment in more quiet, peaceful, and
orderly than the real thing. It is also far less crowded.
Automatic responses are also coming less often in dreams.
Recently I have been asking myself questions during dreams about
where I was going to go, what I was going to do, what I still
have left to finish working on. And why. That kind of thing.
During dreams I get stuck because I can't answer the questions
and it causes the story line of the dream to crumble. My
responses to situations in dreams feel more authentic and less
controlled than while awake and functioning during the day, so
they seem to be a better indicator of where my mind is at and
less where I want it to be while awake. It is much harder to
pretend or fake it. It would be nice to be able to hear from
other people here if they feel the same way about sleeping and
dreaming as a way to check on things. Like how aware they really
are.

Hi there:
Thank you and welcome to the forum.
Anything and everything can be your teacher, and of course,
dreams can also teach. The better your questions the better the
answers. I suggest you get very clear on what you want the know.
After my T/R I continued to have dreams, but in over twenty
years I have not have an upsetting or scary dream. They all
arise as fun and entertainment. Something I didn't anticipate.
So, what do you want?
Love ya, Jed.

Ideally, I would like to be lucid between dreams in deep sleep.
Until then, no more work dreams would be a good start.
It seems like tracking my dreams is a good way to keep track of
the status of my mind. One which makes it harder to lie to
myself. Honest feedback seems like a valuable asset, especially
working on my own. There has to be a difference between reading
a correct answer from a book and really knowing it. The answers
have to change me from the inside.
The question about what I really want has always been trouble. I
don't think I believe in anything worth having.
