This is 'Hugo'- a joint track day project jointly for my brother
& I.
He's a 1995 UKDM Honda Prelude VTEC with a few mods. Here goes
for a quick summary...
ENGINE Stock H22A2 2157cc VTEC ~ 183bhp/156lbs/ft with AEM V1
CAI- stainless manifold, decat & stock UK exhaust system
SUSPENSION Custom Gaz coilovers with full height & damping
adjustment
BRAKES Brembo 282mm discs with Hawk HP+ Pads. Standard rears
(Hawk pads to fit)
EXTERIOR Stock minus rear wiper & aerial
INTERIOR Fully stripped out including aircon, airbags, cruise
control, trim & various bits of bracketry. ~55kgs lost so far.
Future plans include fitting the LSD box currently sat on my
shed floor (slightly shorter f.d too), 2ws conversion (loses
weight of 4ws ecu & electric actuator)
If we get really serious we can go for an H22A7 from an Accord R
to boost power up to ~220BHP
That's about it really! Should be fun
Chris :)

A decent start Chris....tho I'm sure "zee German's" will have an
answer on track! ;D
Where's peak torque Chris...still high up or better midrange
with the extra capacity?
I did see a red Integra R yesterday with gold centre rims...they
do look good the o'l Honda's...always fancied an R after seeing
Tarquini & Thompson romping around the circuits in "standard"
(yeah right) cars during the pro-mo launch.
My best mate has a Civic R "breadvan"...by his own admission
it's no match low to mid range for his 2ltr Mk2 8v.... ;)...but
does come into it's own at the top end.

Peak torque is ~5500rpm- though it feels really punchy (compared
to standard) low down thanks to the weight reduction combined
with running some extra ignition advance.
No big step/surge as it hits VTEC now as the mid-range is
suitably bolstered.
As ever with Hondas- it loves it revs, though the fact it's a
2.2 & 'only' 183BHP means its not a peaky banshee like a B16 or
B18 or even a K20 for that matter
Certainly a good match for a certain 2L 16v mk2 GTi. We'll have
to re-evaluate after he fits his posh new JMR head ;D

I shall try to swing a day trip down when Tim comes to collect
it ;D
I have first dibs on having the 16v back should the day come too
::)

Well eBay has turned up a bargain for us
£36 for a Janspeed back box. ;D (retail at ~£200 new)
Should make it sound a little more purposeful. Might even rev a
bit more keenly if its a straight-thru!

Janspeed.. havnt heard that name for a while. My GF's dad used
to make manifolds for them years and years ago. Good on ya!
I found a momo steering wheel in black yesterday.. put a cheeky
40 quid bid on it and won! Comes with the boss too :)

Drove out to Clevedon to collect it today.
Looks barely used! What a result!!! ;D
Good result with the momo wheel- not long fitted one of them
too! It's amazing how a car can feel so different purely from
changing a steering wheel!

is a gain to be had :)

Fitted it up yesterday- went on a treat
Nice & subtle deep tone- not raspy or chavvy.
Arse-dyno can't really feel a difference- but then the system is
still all 2.25" bore. It'll do for now ???
Main priorities now are fitting the 2ws, LSD box & chopping some
unwanted metal out.
