Head Gasket gone

Well, while I was on Holiday my co owner of our car took it out
on a track day. The heater matrix burst so he called RAC who
kindly bypassed it with some pipework and filled it up with
water. During the installation, he damaged the pipe that goes
into the engine (no idea how) and it was leaking water.. a leak
that got progressively worse over the course of the day. My mate
topped up the water thinking all was ok (!!!****) and drove it
home. It overheated badly on the way and he did the head
gasket.. and to add to that, he didn't shut the bonnet so that
flew open on the motorway.
Im hoping the damage is just a head skim but I wont know until i
get it back to the workshop. Gutted

Oh no that's a bugger Stu!...tho no doubt you used different

On the positive side...is now the time to check that head out?

Don't want to jinx it as it hasn't happened yet but an engine
and gearbox with some fly stuff on it came up while I was
helping someone get their track day car to start.. standby :)
